"You want to what?" I pause the movie, looking at her, watching her eyes look in the opposite direction from me, annoyed that I didn't hear her the first time since she looked reluctant to repeat herself.

"Why are you even talking about that right now? You do realize you just escaped from a psycho, right?" She rolled her eyes at me, playing with the ends of her red hair, twirling the small plaits– she had made in her hair– around her finger and letting them lose then doing it again.

"I want..." She sighs heavily, finally looking up at me, "I just want to come back to work." I shake my head, knowing this isn't a good idea, and it won't end well.

After Hazel and I fell asleep last night we ended up waking up at two this afternoon and kept our decision to lie in bed all day, watching TV, snuggling close and eating a mountain of junk food that would fill us for weeks.

"Come on, Roman. You can't expect me to sit at home all day?" She sits upright, turns around and faces me, the scowl on her face going unmissed... and extremely sexy right now.

Focus Roman! She is mad. Could you not get her even more angry?

I sigh at her stubbornness. Of course, I don't expect her to be at home permanently now but, I was hoping that she would just sit her ass here, where she is safe and comfortable and I know where she is at all times without worrying about her.

All I know is that fucking psycho is still in the hospital, sick as a dog and weak as an old man, so, with these great outcomes I'm not going to risk it by her getting back out in the world– which half of them think she is dead –where she is capable of becoming a prime target to get taken away or worse. Dead.

"Princess." Her features softened when my voice was calm and soft. "You were fucking kidnapped!" She groans and falls back on the headboard, her arms crossed against her chest, her face pinched with anger and annoyance.

"Do you think this is a great idea, huh? Kai is still in the hospital and hopefully fucking dies there too," It was quick, just as it disappeared but I noticed the sadness come and go on her face, it was brief but I knew my words stung her a bit.

Why?

"You're being an idiot right now," She gets up from the bed, walks to the bathroom, and slams the door behind her, "Oh, God." I place the bowl of popcorn and the bedside table and get up.

I walk over to the bathroom, leaning against the door, "Baby." I knock twice, crossing my arms and ankles, "Listen..." I pinch the bridge of my nose, trying to come up with a solution to make us both happy, more so her.

"Why don't we come up with a plan?" I hear the toilet flush, making that my cue to push off the door.

And, just in time the door flies open, watching her stand on the other side with an unreadable expression, her face blank of all emotion, "Go on." She walks past me, sitting on the edge of the bed, crossing her legs and listening to my proposition.

"Why don't we start with you meeting Anastasia," Her face lights up at my words. Okay, we are getting somewhere. "And, since a few people think you've retired from working and that we broke up, they might find it strange that you've come back to work all of sudden since you've kind of disappeared." She nods affirmatively.

"And in the meantime, while I have some time to gradually mention you back at the office you can work here at home." Her face falls, a frown appearing, "Roman. You know I hate working at home." Shit. That's right.

For that short amount of time that Hazel and I were together, she made it a known rule when we came home that whatever work wasn't completed or anything we wanted to catch up on either stayed at work and was done on the next day or stayed late. But, never bring work home. Ever.
