The next morning I woke up and stretched. Another beautiful day yet it could get weird. I stared at the ceiling as I laid there in my bed. Well, I had to face the day no matter what. I hadn't slept as well as I wanted, but I wasn't about to let that stop me from doing what I wanted to do today. When I put my right ankle on the floor a sharp pain shot up my leg. I groaned and got up despite the pain. I got dressed in the clothes I had picked out to wear today. I walked into the kitchen trying not to limp and show any pain. I took the breakfast cheesecake that I had put together the night before and let it sit out for 30 minutes before sticking it in the oven to bake. By the time it was done I was having a hard time standing on my ankle. I carried the cheesecake to the table and placed it on a hot pad. I could hardly think about anything but what I had witnessed the night before. The picture of Scott holding onto Kirstin as if she had said something terrible. He looked scared and agitated. His words echoed in my head: "I almost lost you. I don't want that to happen again." Kirstin and Scott walked into the kitchen.

Kirstin: Good morning, Kailyn. How did you sleep?

Me: Good morning. I slept wonderfully. How about you?

Kirstin: Me too.

She was smiling at me as I sat down. The wonderful smell of the cheesecake seemed to comfort me as another sharp pain shot up my leg, making me wince.

Scott: You okay Kailyn?

I winced at his tone, but they probably thought it was from the pain. Now the same tone that was directed to Kirstin last night was being directed at me now. I forced myself to respond calmly.

Me: Yeah my ankle is just a little sore. Maybe it is just from sleeping last night. I could have shifted and it bent weirdly.

Kirstin: Maybe you should ice it again.

And there went the comforting voice that she had this morning. My eyes shifted from Kirstin to Scott. I was going to get asked several questions throughout the day if my leg didn't quit hurting.

Me: Kirstin, I'm fine.

I held in a sigh of relief as Mitch, Kevin, and Matt walked into the kitchen and sat down. Mitch looked at Kirstin then at Scott before smiling at me.

Mitch: What did you make for breakfast?

Me: A breakfast cheesecake. It's super easy to make so I just put it together last night and put it in this morning when I woke up.

Mitch: It smells delicious.

We finished eating and they went to get ready. I walked to my office to grab the itinerary. Wonder Works, Titanic museum, Pigeon Forge Snow, The Island, and lastly Dolly Parton's Stampede. As I was walking to the living room I just about fell all the way to the ground in the living room. I caught myself and walked it off. We got into the car and drove to Parkway. I took them to a place called Wonder Works.

Leah Conner: Hey Kailyn! You can go right on in as soon as you tell me who your friends are.

Me: Leah, this is Kirstin Maldonado; Scott Hoying; Mitch Grassi; Kevin Olusola; and Matt Sallee.

Leah: Nice to meet you and have a blast here at Wonder Works!

I smiled at Leah before leading Pentatonix through this amazing attraction. It allowed me to relax just enough to enjoy it myself. I was relieved to know that they were having fun. Kirstin and Scott didn't let me out of their sight. It was almost annoying but at the same time a little comforting to know that they cared. Once outside I looked towards the next attraction on the list and turned to Pentatonix.

Me: Yall feel up to another attraction or what?

Kirstin: How far is it?

I motioned towards Titanic: Museum Attraction. Kirstin followed my gaze then nodded at me. She motioned for me to lead the way. I wanted to think that she wanted me to go in front to lead them to the place, but I knew the other reason: So she and Scott could keep an eye on me. Now they both were being protective. Was this day going to be weird like yesterday or is it going to be semi-normal? It was about 5:30 when we pulled into Dolly Parton's Stampede. I got out and winced, my ankle had been hurting all day long. I tried to ignore it, but it just got worse. I noticed Scott's eyes as I winced. I didn't know how much more I could take. I almost wanted to get home.
