"Another party?" Harry whined, throwing himself childishly on his bed.

He wanted to have plans this weekend, but not party plans. He preferred sitting around with a large pizza and watching movies kind of plans.

Niall's chuckles filled the room as he tossed his backpack to the side, kicking his shoes off soon after.

"What's the big deal, too pussy?" He teased, tugging off his thin hoodie and letting it fall to the floor.

Harry peeked his head up from under his pillow, narrowing his eyes and mumbling barely audibly, "No. They're just boring."

Niall rolled his eyes, dropping to his knees beside Harry's bed and running a hand through his curls, "Well then dearest, try drinking for once. It'll make it all better."

Harry squirmed under his hand, scoffing, "I have no problems to fix. But if I did, I'll be happy to drink. Just not at one of those crowded houses where I get yanked out of anyways." He spoke in a matter of fact tone, making Niall laugh again.

"I'm sorry about that, it won't happen this time. Louis hasn't even tried to talk to me so I gave up on that." He answered half heartedly.

It was part of the truth, the fact that Louis hadn't tried to speak with him at all about their issues. But he didn't exactly give up, he's just taking a break, his heart needs it.

Harry was still utterly confused about the whole ordeal. Niall hadn't opened up about his and Louis' relationship or whatever it was. Harry has no clue what either of them did to each other and he's not sure he ever will. All he knows is that this is another reason not to trust that blue eyed menace.

"Will he be there?" Harry found himself asking. He didn't know what he wanted the answer to be. If Louis were there, he'd definitely take the opportunity to make Harry's skin crawl as usual. And Harry's debating whether he likes it or not. He shouldn't, and he knows that.

Everything about Louis is everything he's against. He smokes, parties way too much, consumes drugs, skips school, he's cocky and way too blunt.

This made Harry's face cringe at the realization that Louis wasn't anything special, in fact, he wasn't any better than the bums you see on the street.
So when Niall said that he'd most likely be at the party, it didn't make the idea of going in the first place any more tempting.

"Is it a problem if he's there? Have you two talked before?" Niall asked almost frantically, almost crossing his fingers in hope that Louis hadn't gotten to his friend yet.

He saw the way Louis looked at Harry, he looked excited and devious and although Niall wishes he could be selfless and be concerned for Harry's wellbeing, he was mainly concerned of being replaced.

"Nope, never. He just freaks me out is all."

Harry knew better than to just blurt out the truth. Clearly Louis and Niall have some unresolved business and he didn't want to get in the way of that, well, anymore than he already is.

Niall let out a small breath, nodding to himself in silent reassurance. "Oh, okay.. well don't worry. Just stick by my side and you'll be fine."

Harry raised an eyebrow, "Who said I agreed to go?"

"You're my best friend aren't you?" Niall challenged, a small grin reappearing on his face.

Harry lifted his head from under his pillow, laying on his side and looking at Niall expectantly, "I don't know, am I?"

Niall nodded eagerly, bringing his hand up to tap at Harry's nose, "Yes sir."

Harry was flattered that he was considered Niall's best friend, and the gleam of hope in his eyes was too hard to resist. Niall is like a ray of sunshine and you don't want him to burn out, it's the saddest thing to see.
