I DUMP MY BAG ON THE WASHROOM COUNTER AND FIX MY HAIR, tying the blonde locks into a hair ponytail away from my face. My eyes catches sight of a figure standing behind me before that figure turns into three more.

Dread slowly washes over me and I feel like someone's squeezing my throat. I grab my bag moving to leave. I keep my head down even as I walk past them.

Penelope grabs my shoulder as she digs her acrylics in my skin, pushing me back. I drop my bag and it falls onto the floor. "Look who it is," She said in a mocking tone then inspects me up and down. "The loser heiress."

"Excuse me." My voice is low—quiet. "I need to get pa—"

Suddenly I'm sent across the room with a harsh push. Luckily I balanced myself before my body could meet the ground, injuring my wrist in the process. I wince at the impact of her hit wishing that I hadn't said a word.

Penelope and the rest of Mia's minions surround me all with evil grins on their face as they scrunch their nose jobs up at me. Without Mia present, Penelope was the leader and she knows it so she took advantage of it. She stands hovering over me with a hand on her hip as she cocks it. "You think just because you're engaged to Ezekiel now, you have the right to speak to us?"

No, I don't. According to Ezekiel, I don't have any rights.

"Someone needs to remind you of your place, Monroe, because it looks like you forgot it to me." She continues as she walks towards me in long strides. She hikes her leg back and before I knew it, sent a hard kick to my shin, causing me to wince, but I didn't scream. Screaming doesn't do anything. I learnt that the hard way. Sometimes I wish I hadn't learned at all.

I tried standing up but my legs were too wobbly and I ended up on the floor once again. "Looks like you and the ground are besties, bitch." Jasmine scowled and tugs on my ponytail, yanking it. My hands instinctively reach to pull her off me but to no avail. I was useless in this situation.

"Oh. My. God, girls, would you look at that." Penelope's voice is loud—affirmative. My eyes follows hers, then they widen in absolute fear. "This little bitch cuts herself." She laughs followed by three other voices.

I bit down on my lips, still trying to yank myself out of Jasmine's hold. "Let me go!" My scream didn't work in my favour as their grip only tightened. Don't touch me.

That earns me a harsh slap across the cheek. I'm left stained by the impact as they giggled some more.

"Then I guess you mind if we join in on all the fun, seeing as you already cut your pathetic self." Penelope grinned, looking at Kayana. "Give me the knife."
