EZEKIEL
Fighting has always been something I enjoyed ever since a small child. The adrenaline never failed to send me on a high. I started off at a dojo downtown learning Jujitsu and worked my way up to Muay Thai.
Knowing I mastered the ability to defend myself when need be made me feel like god. Unstoppable. I, was unstoppable. I worked my way up to the ranks faster than anyone in the class, and continued from there forward.
Now I'm a fighter at the underground pit. Where street fighters and dangerous thugs come to make a sweet penny. The pit was located in downtown Brooklyn. After working my ass off with classes and cleaning up the Archive, I drove over here.
I had steam that needed to be release. Those bastards from yesterday costed my team and I our big game. I did a number on the fuckers but it wasn't enough to soothe my rage.
I needed to hit something. My eyes slid from Scorpion, the poor, shallow bastard who owns the pit, to three familiar heads in the crowd. Silas, Kenzo and Atticus.
When they're not fighting in the ring, they're watching. It's been a while since either of them fought now that I think about it. Silas has his reasons. Reasons being Autumn Lau, his fiance.
Unlike her mangy mutt, she doesn't enjoy causing extreme discomfort to people. She mentioned it once in the cafeteria months ago. Said fighting shouldn't be a means to an end.
When I retorted her bullshit comment in by bringing up memory of her almost bashing Mia's head in, she gave me an eye roll and told me she let anger get the best of her.
Silas' stopped participating in matches ever since that day.
After the match was over with me being announced as the winner, I was awarded a few thousand dollars to which I rejected and made my way to the backrooms as people began to leave. Our match was the last.
I was already peeling out of my fighting shorts when the door swung open. I don't bother peering over my shoulder to see who the fucker is who obviously had a death wish. "Get out." I growled.
My brows knitted into a tight knot, making my annoyance painfully obviously, I turn around about to rip the fucker a new one.
There was no one there until I lowered my eyes and caught sight of hers. Rage corrupted my mind. The hell was Monroe doing here? Kenzo was the first one to pop into my head. Damn Russian dog. There he was again, causing unnecessarily fucking problems.
In a place as dark and twisted as the underground pit, Monroe stood out like a virgin in a whorehouse. Her hair was tied into a long, curly ponytail that swung with each nervous step she took towards me.
Like always, she wore a ribbon in her hair and this time it was blue. My gaze dropped to her sky-blue fairy heels, the butterflies on the white lace stealing my attention as it danced around her naked legs in a mini skirt that stopped mid-thigh.
Ignoring her creme-colored fishnet stockings tempting enough to kill a man and the corset she was wearing, I focused my attention on the problem at hand, my eyes narrowed. "Why are you here, Monroe?"
The underground pit isn't safe. At least it isn't to her. World-class jackasses with homicidal tendencies come here for two things. Fighting and harassing young girls on the sidelines. A place like this would taint her mind and corrupt her innocence.
Her eyes meet mine, peeking out.from beneath her lashes. She looked like a fucking porcelain doll. "I want you to train me."
My brows hike to the sky at her words. Train her? "Train you?" I repeat with confusion written all over my face. The thought was laughable.
