"Babydoll," I was in the middle of taste-tasting the desserts in the kitchen when my aunt's voice boomed behind me. I turned around with a smile on my face.

She embraces me tightly, then steps back and we air kiss. Giselle takes my gleaming face in her hands. "Oh, how I missed you, bunny."

"You have no idea how much I missed you." Honest.

The last time I saw her was the last time we had a family gathering. Two years ago. She and her husband were the rock of this family, and she, the life of the party.

If there's one word to describe Giselle Beaumont, it's confident. She's the type of woman who captures everyone's attention the moment she steps into a room. There was something about her that commanded respect, and she got it every time.

The walls are adorned with exquisite artwork and the soft glow of crystal chandeliers illuminates the halls. The plush carpet beneath our feet muffles the sound of our steps.

We sat down at the table in the kitchen, not the fancy one in the dining room, while three chefs my mother hired worked on making the carver and wangyu beef. Accompanied by Lobster, truffles, foie gras and a garden salad that looked way too green.

The aroma of the gourmet meals invaded my senses. My stomach let out an embarrassing rumble. I was caught off-guard and my face turned pink.

"Have you eaten today, bunny?" Her red-painted lips pulled down into a frown as she furrowed her thin blonde brows at me.

"Does the lemon I had in my water count?" I ask, twiddling with my fingers under the table.

Her mouth gaped open for a second before they returned back into a thin line. With a snap of her fingers, she alerts a chef to our table. "Please fetch my niece something quick to eat before dinner. I can't have her fainting on me now."

"Right away, Miss."

Nothing has changed since the last time we saw each other. She's still as gorgeous as she was years ago. She's in her mid forties but could easily pass as twenty eight.

She was the one who taught me skincare and how to balance products on oily to dry skin. Her secret? No botox. She was a hundred percent natural and I think that's what made me love her even more.

She was like a breath of fresh air, someone I could rely on in this messed up family.

The chef comes back with a Charcuterie and Cheese board set, and I share it with Giselle, who is telling me about her company.

She was also my inspiration for fashion. Her sense of fashion might not be conventional in today's society but that's what I love about clothes. You have the ability to express yourself with no judgement. I believe you can know someone's character just by their clothes.
