As I neared the Freedom Hospital, police cars blocked my path. A police officer knocked on my car window.
'Bob. I have left vandalism everywhere you go and you have been arrested for over speeding. ' said the police officer.
'Sorry officer', I said.
'Don't play smart with me, criminal'
I walked to the nearest police station which was around a hundred metres, I guess. I pulled out a wad of bank notes of the English pound and slammed it on the table.
The lady in the reflector jacket aggressively grabbed the money and sent me off after having a long argument.
So I walked out of the police station. Scanning the area, I noticed that people were giving me dark glances as I went to the car. Opening the car and starting the engine, I pulled out my phone and noticed that it was the thirteenth hour of the day. I began driving the car.
Palms sweating. Face turning red. Heart pumping hard. Tears flowing out of my eyes.
Two precious hours, attempting to save my wife faded for good. Regret overtook me instantly.
After ten minutes, I finally reached Freedom Hospital. With a breath of relief, I restored my alpha male composure and entered the hospital reception.
My three children were on the metal benches, praying for the fading life of their dying mother.
Prison
The prisoners were doing business as usual. As for the single armed prison warden of the male prison cells, he was busy at a phone booth full of coins in his pockets.
'Hi, Evelene. Remember the plan I told you?'
The nurse in the hospital ward room 73 slipped out her phone to reply.
'Hi, sweetie, I remember the procedure. What's next?'
'Substitute the usual medicine with rat poison and the water with snake venom. Then slit the vein on her neck and leave. Do not forget to also wear gloves to prevent yourself from getting caught'
'All right. Good bye'
'Shut the hell up'
The nurse swopped her medicine with the poisons given to her by her husband and slowly walked towards the patient, that being Bob's wife.
As for Diane, the manager of the prison, she was discussing with the lawyers of the Supreme Court on the topic of whether releasing Bob was a good idea.
Maximus (Max in short), Bob's pet lizard was busy plotting on how to preserve energy for hibernation which was nearing in around two months time.
I was planning on saving the love of my life and in the process of creating an antidote to the incurable variant of the virus which was unleashed seven years ago.
As for my wife, is she planning on staying alive?
