Seven days later...

It was a Sunday morning and I was preparing to go to church. But this time, things were different. We were preparing for a funeral. The one of my deceased wife. The funeral was at nine a.m. So I wore a black suit and combed my hair for the sake of decency. The whole family was dressed in black. It sort of reminds me of that movie: 'Men in Black' but instead ladies are dressed in the same colour too.

Well, it was half past seven. We, as a family finished breakfast and were on our way to church.

Unfortunately, we were disrupted thanks to news reporters trying to stop us and haters attempting to attack me for heaven know why.

Thankfully we made it on time.

For two hours, we were at the funeral service. The casket was in front of us all.

At eleven, we drove to the burial grounds. Across the burial grounds were tombstones which bore the names of our deceased ancestors.

Then, it rained. Flowers of tragedy bloomed across the plains like the flowers which blossomed on Remembrance Day.

We paid our final respects and I dug and buried my beloved though my face was soggy with rain drops and tears. My hair covered my face as I could not bear the stinging misery of placing the love of my life into the ground.

The family surrounded the grave after I was done and we mourned a final time.

The rain poured heavier and at last, a ray of light pierced through the heavens, granting us hope.

I stretched my hand to the sky and at least, my beloved is now in peace. I smiled a bit, despite the pain and let out a sigh of relief.

The requiem ended and we all clad in black, became bright.
