chapter seven

Rues pov
It was 11am, the next morning. It was a rough night for Ellie. Fez messaged me telling me he's on his way, I didn't want to wake El up though, she looked so peaceful. "Mom, Fez is coming over" I tell my Mom. "Alright, Rue. Me and Gia are going out now though. Let me know how Ellie is when she wakes" My Mom says as she leaves.

Not long after, I heard a knock on my door so I answered it to see a sorry looking Ash and Fez. "Yo Rue, thank you so much" Fez says. "How is she?" Ashtray asks as I lead them into my kitchen. "She's still sleeping, she looks so peaceful, I don't wanna wake her" I tell them. "I have a feeling she gonna be round here a lot with you" Fez says and I smile, "she's always welcome, you all are" I say and see Ashtray smile happily. He didn't show it much but he liked being treat like a kid sometimes.

"Want some pop tarts Ash?" I ask him. "Bro yes please" he says as I begin to make them. "Fezco, you want some?" I ask him in a weird accent, making Ash laugh. "When would I ever say no to sugar?" He says. "When there's cocaine?" I say jokingly, earning a 'fuck you' from the older brother.

"Hi guys" A sleepy Ellie says, as she greets us in my oversized T-shirt and shorts. "Whassup sis, you good?" Fez says, hugging her. "I'm good Fez, I don't need to be babied. I just wanna forget about it for now" she says and we all nod. "Can we go somewhere fun today, all four of us?" she asks. "I'm up for it" I say. "Me too" Fez and Ash say. "We can take the bikes" Ellie suggests and I see Ashtrays face drop. "Yo, you can't ride a bike bro?" Fez says to Ash. "Well nobody taught me" Ash says, defending himself, which makes us all laugh. "We don't even own bikes, Fez. Only Els does" Ashtray says. "I have plenty bikes in the garage" I say and the two boys give me a shocked look.

"Why so many bikes?" Fez asks curiously. "Gia has two and then my old bikes" I say and he just nods. "Me and Ellie need to get ready but then we can go. You might want lessons before we head out, little one" I say to Ash. "Don't call me little one, Bennett" Ashtray says seriously and I just flip him off and head to my room with Ellie.

"Can I borrow some clothes?" Ellie asks and I nod. "Take your pick from my closet" I say and she walks over. "Yooo, you have some sick clothes" she says. "Well then, what's mine is yours" I say smiling as she thanks me. I just throw some cycling shorts on with an oversized tee and my Dad's hoodie. Ellie grabs a pair of my basketball shorts with a white cropped vest, she looked good in anything.

"Hurry the fuck up" I hear Fez shout, frustrated. "We're ready, hold on bruh" Ellie shouts back. I lead the three siblings to my garage, Ellie's bike was already in my garage from yesterday. "Fezco you can have my old one, it works perfectly fine and Ash you can use Gia's since you're smaller" I say and Ash looks unamused. "Rue, it's got flowers on it" He says, which makes Fez laugh more than it should've. "Sorry Ash, it's the only other working one I have" I say, honestly. We begin to cycle down the neighbourhood and for someone who's never rode a bike before, Ash was really good.

"Where are we heading?" Ellie yells so we can hear her. "We could head down by the lake?" I suggest and everyone agrees. I must admit, it felt weird doing this shit with Ash and Fez here because they normally were the 'tough type' but I could see how much they enjoyed stuff like this, being teenagers as they should be.

When we made it to the lake, we were all boiling. "Cycling is fucking hard" Ash says, taking his t-shirt off. "Bro, nobody wanna see those 2 pack abs" Ellie says, teasing her brother. "You don't wanna start, I'll fight ya" Ash says, jokingly yet not joking. "Whatever, loser" Ellie says.

"Can we go in the lake and swim" Ellie suggests which cause the rest of us to stare at her. "You do realise it'll be freezing?" I say to my best friend and she just shrugs. "Come on, stop being babies" Ellie says, taking her vest off, leaving her in her bra. "What the fuck, Els. We don't wanna see you strip" Ash says, looking away. "Ash, it's a fucking bra, it's no different to a bikini top. Shut the fuck up" Ellie says, throwing her top at him.

"I'll come with you" I say, beginning to take my clothes off, leaving me in my underwear. It did feel weird, these people were my family but it's no different to a bikini - like El said. "You joining us, are you both babies?" I say, teasing the boys. That's all it took for them for remove their shirts and join us.

"Fuck, it's cold" Fez says, shivering as he steps in. "Then do this" Ellie says and jumps in, dragging me with her. "You didn't need to do that" I say, as we come up from the water. "It was fun" Ellie says, shrugging. "Come on Ash, stop being such a baby" Ellie says, dragging him under the water. "Bruh, it's fucking on" Ash says and starts play fighting with Ellie. Me and Fez just laughed at them. After their little play fight, Ellie swam towards me and wrapped her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist. "You good?" I ask and she nods. "This is weird, I haven't spent time with my brothers like this since I was young and we had Grandma" she tells me.

This is the first time I've known Fez and Ash to relax and just act like they're teenagers. I know they wish they could live like this everyday but soon they'll be thrown back into their reality.
