chapter eight

Fezco's pov
Not gonna lie, spending time with Els, Rue and Ash down by the lake was the best. That was until I get a phone call. The four of us were just sat on the grass, after spending a couple hours in the lake. "Yo, I gotta get this" I say and answer my phone.

"Yo, who this?" I ask. "Mouse. Where you at Fezco" He says and I look at Ash and mouth, 'it's mouse'. I can see his face drop, he was having fun and now it's back to reality. Ellie and Rue don't know the full story. Me and Ash are fighting against not getting killed daily, if the cops find out that means we're in prison immediately but we can't leave Els. "I'm out right now, what's up?" I say. "I'm at your house" He says.

We always kept the business away from the house, I don't know how he knows where we live. "For real? How you know where we live" I say which makes the three stare at me. "I have my ways, now Fezco if you and your lil partner ain't home in 20, the cops will be waiting for you" He says. "Aight, see you" I say and hang up.

"Shit Ash we gotta go" I say, starting to panic. "What's happened Fez" Els asks, worried. "Nothing bad, we just got somebody waitin" I tell her. "Shut the fuck up Fezco, tell me the truth" She says. "That's the truth sis" I say. "Who's Mouse?" Rue asks. "Just tell 'em Fez. Mouse is this fucking drug dealer who controls our life basically. He's a fucking dickhead. If we don't give him so much of our money, he'll call the cops on us or kill us" Ash says. "Yo ash, what the fuck" I say, smacking him across the face.

"Fez! You told me it wasn't serious all this drug business" Ellie says, quite clearly worried about us. "Trust me Els, it's all good" I say, trying to calm her down. "Fezco! Ash just said you could get killed, it's fucking serious" She says. "Look, I'm sorry Els but we gotta go" Ash says. "Be fucking safe, I beg" Ellie says, pulling Ash in for a hug then I walked over to her, "It'll be okay, I promise" I say, hugging her. "I love you two" she says.

To make it quicker, we use the bikes and we made it to our house quickly and were soon met with Mouse and his 'friends' . "What took you two so fucking long?" He says and we just shrug. "What you want Mouse?" I say. "Money" He says. "It ain't Friday, you get your money on Fridays bro" Ash says. "Well I need it early" Mouse says. "We don't have it yet, Mouse" I say, truthfully. "Well then I'm not leaving your place till I have it" He says, walking straight through our door and sitting on the couch. "Look man, we can give it to you tomorrow, just leave" I say. "Nah, I can wait here" he says, gripping his gun in his hand.

Rues pov
It's now been a couple hours since the boys left us. Me and Ellie are now back at my place and we haven't heard anything from them since they left. "Rue, I'm really fucking panicking right now" El says, pacing up and down. "I'm gonna head home, see if they're ok" Ellie says. "No, you can't! If he finds out you're their sister, you're immediately a target" I say. "I can't take it any longer Rue! They're my brothers, I need to know they're safe" She says, stressing out.

"Look El. You stay here, don't leave my house. I'll head over to yours and check in. That Mouse guy can't know you're their sister but he can know I'm their client" I say. "Are you sure?" Ellie asks and I nod. "Don't leave, I'll text you as soon as I've saw them" I tell her and she nods. I love you Rue" Ellie says. "I love you too" I say as I cycle to their house.

Fez and Ash were like my brothers too, so I had to know for myself that they were safe but as soon as I saw the motorcycle outside their house, I knew it wasn't looking good. I knock on the door and Ash answers it. He looks at me confused, gently shaking his head for me to go. "Yo man, I need some oxys or anything" I say lying, pushing my way in. I see a stressed looking Fezco sat opposit this guy, with tattoos all over him - I presume that's Mouse. "Sorry Rue, we're a little busy right now. Come back later" Fez says, giving me eyes to say 'get away'. I know I can't go back and tell Ellie this situation, I have to stay now.
