Ellies pov
I scramble down the stairs, bumping into people. I was still crying, I was unable to think properly. I see Rue talking to Jules, they were laughing and smiling. I can't interrupt them. I see Rue take a look at me and immediately starts following me, I just rush outside as I feel a panic attack coming on.
"El! Ellie, what's happened?" She says and I shake my head, trying to take deep breathe. "Sit down, come on El" Rue says, sitting me down on the front step of Jules' house. "Keep taking deep breaths, just like that" Rue says and keeps a hold of my hand. Once I calmed down, she asked me, "What happened?" but I just couldn't say it.
"N..." I begin to say but shake my head and burst into tears. "It's okay, take your time" Rue says. "I'm gonna go home. I'm such a burden" I quickly say, trying to stand up. Rue still had a hold of my hand and pulled me back down gently. "El, what's going on" she says, pushing a strand of my hair behind my cheek. "Nate Jacobs..." I say quietly. Rue furrows her eyebrows, "what about Nate Jacobs?" She asks. "He raped me, Rue" I was, quietly again.
"I'm so sorry El, Shit...are you okay?" She asks and I shake my head a little bit. "Do you wanna go home?" She asks me but I shrug. "I can't let Fez or Ash see me this way" I say, honestly. They would probably kill Nate if they knew what happened. "Do you wanna go to my house?" She asks me and I nod. "Let's go then" Rue says, helping me up. "But you were talking to Jules" I say, not wanting Rue to ruin her chances. "It's fine, you're more important" she says, holding my hand. As we walk down the driveway, Jules shouts Rues name. "Is everything okay?" Jules asks us.
"Some shit happened, we're gonna head off now. Thank you for having us, I'll text you" Rue says to Jules. "Thank you both for coming" Jules says and kisses Rues cheek. "Whatever happened, I hope you're feeling okay Ellie" Jules says. "Thank you" I say, forcing a smile.
"It's not a far walk to my house then you can get washed if you feel like it and get changed" Rue says as we walk down the dark street, still holding my hand. I didn't say anything, I was still thinking about what happened. "He said it was cause Fez owed him shit so I don't want Fez to ever find out, he'll blame himself" I tell Rue. "It's up to you but it's for the best if you tell him when you feel up to it" Rue says.
We get to Rues house pretty quickly, it was only 10pm so it was early to be home from a party. We walk through the door and Leslie looks at us worried. "Is everything okay, you girls are home early?" She asks. "I'll explain later Mom" Rue says. "You can tell her, if you want" I whisper, meaning she can tell her Mom. "Are you sure?" She asks and I nod. "You know Nate Jacobs?" Rue says to her Mom who nods. "He raped Ellie tonight" Rue says, quietly. "I'm so sorry baby. If there's anything I can do, please let me know. You're safe here" Leslie says, hugging me.
"Why don't you take a hot bath or something, if you want?" Leslie says and I nod. I walk with Rue to her bedroom. "Do you wanna bath?" She asks and I nod, "don't leave me though" I say. I know nothing was going to happen to me in Rue's house but I still didn't feel safe. "I'll stay if you want, that's okay" she says. Rue runs the bath and puts some bubbles in it. I slowly take the dress off and step in, Rue not leaving my side. "Thank you" I say. "Anything that makes you feel better, you didn't deserve what happened to you" Rue says.
I felt tears well up in my eyes, out of nowhere. "I feel like shit" I cry. "I know, I know" Rue says, trying to calm me down. She rubs my back to try calm me down, which it did. "Do you want me to wash your hair?" She asks me and I nod, thanking her. She gently washes my hair and after 30 minutes, I get out the bath and wrap a towel around me.
Rue hands me one of her T-shirts and some shorts for my to change into. Once I changed into some clothes, Rue does my hair and braids it for me. "Thank you for everything" I say, I was incredibly lucky to have Rue and it feels like she's been my best forever forever, not just a few days. "Of course, you mean the world to me. Of course I'll look after you" she says smiling. We walk out to the kitchen, where Rues Mom is. "Are you feeling better, baby?" She asks me. "Yeah, a little. Rues a great help" I tell her and she smiles. "Do you want some food?" She asks me but I shake my head. "No thank you" I say.
"If you need to talk, I'm always here for you. I know it must be tough only being able to talk to your brothers but I'm always here for you, day and night baby" Leslie says as I hug her.
"Do you want me to text Fez?" Rue asks me and I sigh. "I'll do it, I guess I should tell him" I say and I get my phone and begin to type a message to my older brother.
