Pepa's Eyes(The entire thing is long and in Pepa's POV)
A new morning had dawned for us, but not a good one. Everyone was a bit on edge. Even my youngest son, Antonio was worried himself. Bruno, Mirabel and I were prepared to go outside and confront the village once my children gave us the word, Julieta's two daughters were already hard at work making breakfast, and Mamá was in her room, asking Papá for help with my sister's gift.
Mirabel: Tía Pepa, why would Carmelita spread those rumors about Mom?
Me: Some people, like Carmelita are jealous of us, so they spread rumors just to make us look bad and them feel good.
Mirabel: But it's always my mom! Why not you or Bruno? You have gifts too.
Me: Bruno and I do have gifts that are even more abnormal than your mom's, but Carmelita decided to be smart and not mess with people with gifts that could negatively affect anyone including her. Your mother however likes to be kind to everyone and while that's not bad, that's a door for Carmelita to come in and pester her. Hopefully yours, mines and your Tío Bruno's voices can be loud enough to silence those rumors.
Bruno: And hopefully, that'll finally teach Carmelita that if you mess with a Madrigal, you mess with the Madrigal Family. *Puts his hand on Mirabel's shoulder* Don't worry, mija. Your mom's going to be okay.
Dolores: Alright you three, it's clear. The townsfolk are a bit on edge, but you should be able to go out there and give the word.
Me: Got it! Gracias, mija!
Dolores: *Smiles*
With that in mind, Bruno, Mirabel and I made our way towards the exit. Once outside, we found ourselves on a pathway to the village. Suddenly, one of Antonio's toucans landed on my shoulder. He must've sent one to look after us. What an angel! I was so proud to call him my son.
We made it to the center of the village. All around us, people were walking around in a nervous matter. Carmelita's words were the start of this? Oh dear. I looked to Bruno to see if he'd be the one to speak first.
Me: *Whispering* Bruno, will you announce them?
Bruno: *Nods head* *Starts shouting and clapping* Can I have everyone's attention?
Fortunately, Bruno was kindly given the people's attention as they made a crowd around the three of us.
Bruno: I know you're all on edge about what happened yesterday. But let me assure you. Julieta my sister is not a witch! She does not wish to curse you or anyone you hold dear! Something happened to her gift and once we fix it, she'll be back with food to attend to your injuries.
???: Lies!
Someone from the crowd yelled. Suddenly, Carmelita moved up to the front. I should've known. It was her.
Carmelita: Your sister is a witch. We were all fools to trust her.
Me: (Pissed) You're the only fool I see. How dare you spread rumors about my sister who would never hurt a fly? You should be ashamed of yourself, Carmelita!
Carmelita: Ashamed of what? Protecting these fine people. Warning them the dangers of your family.
Me: Why you little-
Bruno: Pepa, look!
Another cloud had formed above my head. A thunder storm this time.
Carmelita: You see, everyone. We should've never trusted the Madrigals. They're a family of witches and wizards. Here's a witch who can simply change the weather. She's the sister of the very witch who's on a mission to curse us all.
