Parveen felt guilty. After everything Aman had said to them about Roshni willing to die with him and how she had saved him, Parveen's brain was somewhat ready to accept her as her daughter in law and son's wife, but her heart was not as she was a mother and a mother always wants the best for her children. She still wasn't sure about Roshni being the one for Aman yet but decided not to berate her anymore and to try have a cordial relationship with her.
When Aman and Roshni came home after their adventure, the whole family rushed to them and asked about their whereabouts since the previous day. When they told them what had happened everyone sighed in relief. Roshni looked at Parveen who was standing there. She was not saying anything but seemed to be lost in thought. Aman looked at Roshni and held her hand to assure her. Roshni smiled at this. They went to their room and Aman was about to go to the bathroom when Parveen came inside.
She held Roshni's hand and took her in to her bedroom surprising them both. Aman rushed behind them to see what was happening and also to stop Parveen if she hurt Roshni again, but what he saw shocked him. Parveen closed the door slightly and went to Roshni who was standing in the middle, unsure of what to do. She decided to apologise 'I'm sorry Ammi, I know you don't want me here. I wouldn't have come but Khanbaba told me to come back. I'm really sorry, I won't do anything. I will stay out of your way. I-.' 'Why are you saying sorry?' asked Parveen making Roshni speechless for once. 'I should be a polishing to you for hurting you and insulting you and even throwing you out of the house. You saved my life, I should have at least been grateful to you for that. I know we don't have a very conventional relationship but I would like to start over with you. If not my daughter in law you are still my son's wife and I will give you that respect from now on.' Roshni's eyes filled with tears and she said 'thank you so much Ammi'. Parveen felt something stirring the mother in her when Roshni called her Ammi. They both smiled at each other and began talking about random things while Aman who was standing outside the door smiled in peace, thankful that his mother and wife were finally not at loggerheads anymore.
Little did he know of the trouble awaiting them.
