"Boy, It was a nice day at the Police station this afternoon. Boy, I'm now exhausted. I wonder what dish Bella is serving for dinner tonight. Oh not again! You've gotta be kidding me! He's with my daughter once again! I swear that kid is here almost everyday than I am. Now I wonder why he's over here again? when my daughter is usually at school, I'm going to have to have a little chat with him about being here almost everyday. Or has my daughter secretly moved in with him without asking my permission?" Charlie muttered under his breath. I chuckled silently so low that she hadn't picked up on anything, I hadn't wanted her to feel more anxious than she was already feeling.
He had parked his cruiser whilst chuckling to himself. I had seen him stomp quietly towards the front door. His keys jiggled loudly whilst in the keyhole and his boots stomped patiently in the snow. Bella had quickly hidden her left hand behind her back. If my suspicions were right, I was positive that Bella hadn't wanted to show Charlie my Mother's engagement ring.
"Stop moving, Bella. Please, try to remember that you're not actually confessing to a murder here." I tried to reassure her.
"Well, that's easy for you to say." Bella responded quietly.
I gently took her by the hand and entwined my fingers with hers. I softly placed our conjoined hands down on my lap so that her father could see why we had come here today to reveal our exciting news. Bella's heart rate was faster than normal and she was breathing more heavily than usual. I noticed that she was almost on the verge of a panic attack.
"Please, calm yourself down Bella." I whispered.
A few minutes later Charlie had accidentally slammed the front door behind him and it rang loudly throughout the house. And felt Bella's small form jump from beside me, nearly leaping into my arms in pure fright.
"I was hoping that would scare the two of them. Why is it everyday when I'm always around, he is always by my daughter's side? doesn't he have elsewhere to be like with his adoptive family as well!" Charlie sighed.
"Hello there, Charlie," I spoke, feeling more determined than ever.
"Don't!" I had heard Bella mutter quietly under her breath.
"What's the matter Bella?" I gazed down at her with narrowed eyes.
I saw only panic in her beautiful eyes, and understood her reasoning for panicking.
"Just wait until he's put away the gun!" Bella warned.
I chuckled amusingly under my breath. She was panicking for no reason. If Bella only realised, what her Father was revealing in his thoughts.
