Breaking Dawn

"So you never have to grow old... instead you are a frozen vampire forever." 

"What are you trying to tell me Edward?"

I was trying to think of a simple way to explain it all to Bella. I hadn't wanted her to feel rejected or to even scare her away

"Have you remembered the day that we announced the news to Charlie about our wedding? And he had gotten angry because he thought you were... expecting?" Just hearing that one particular word, had suddenly sent a feeling of dread and guilt down my spine.

"I could see that he was hesitant about hurting you," Bella responded. "tell me the exact truth, he was really thinking about doing it."

I had seen that he had been hesitant about doing it, but that wasn't what I had been trying to explain to Bella.

"What's wrong, Edward?"

"I had wished well, that Charlie's suspicions had been correct."

"Oh god." Bella responded. 

"To be quite honest I wish that he had been right. That I could give you something like that. I wish that I wasn't taking such an opportunity from you like that."

At this particular moment, all I had wanted was to find out what she was thinking. I wanted to know how she was feeling. And it had taken her a couple of minutes until she gazed back at me.

"I'm completely sure about my decision."

"How do you know if it's the right one, Bella, have you heard both my Mother and sister's story? It's not something that I want you to later regret."

"Both Esme and Rosalie they have everything they've ever wanted. If it means that much to you, we can talk to someone and we can adopt our own child."

Bella is thinking of adopting? I hadn't wished for a child to live the way we do. I had of course noticed different sorts of bonds between a Mother and child. I had witnessed the strongest relationship between Bella and her Mother. Renee's love for Bella was a bond that would never be broken. Even thinking of adoption wasn't something I was highly considering for vampires like us.
