Bloody screams echoed off the mountain side as the sounds of blades slicing through guts deafened my ears. Jenna and I stood with Kylie on the ramparts shooting as many orcs our arrows could reach. Dain and Thorin rallied the armies to hold the line against the endless wave of orcs slamming into the dwarven shields. Thunderous footsteps and battle cries turned our attention to the trolls rushing the eleven army from Ravin Hill.
"Jenna, it's time." I ordered firing another set of arrows at the orcs trying to out flank the army below.
Jenna held the Arkenstone in her hand, chatting softly. "Piertotum Locomotor!" The ground shook with tremendous tremors as the statues on the mouth opening of the front gates came alive. "I can not believe that worked!" Jenna leaned over to see the statues moving towards the trolls. "Erebor is threatened! Do your duty to your kingdom and your king!" Jeanna ordered.
I glanced down to see Thorin cutting down a series of ocs that rushed him. Bile rose in my throat terrified the legend would come true. Fili and Kili worked as a synchronized pair guarding Thorin and providing back up. My nerves buzzed in my ears as my body began to tremble. I could feel them coming...the army from gunabad. The ones who could turn the tides on us.
"It's going to be okay, Lakota." Kylie reassured me. "The lines are holding."
"I should be down there." I gripped the cold stone of the ramparts.
"You will be, trust me." Jenna whipped up a healing spell pulling the power from the Arkenstone. Jenna gathered the dust from the bowl gently blowing it over me, coating my body in a shimmering rainbow of colors. "Ossio Dispersimus."
The magic seeped into my bones healing them over as hard as stone. "Thank you."
"Did you just quote Harry Potter spells?" Kylie asked, a bit amused.
"Well yes," Jenna grinned. "Gandalf said I would have to know the meaning of the spells and allow the magic to flow through those words. So I've been borrowing from J.K Rowling." She grinned proudly.
"You're such a nerd." Kylie laughed.
We rushed into battle joining Thorin on the field with my strength back at full capacity.
"Lakota!" Thorin grabbed me, pulling me in close to protect me from attacking orcs. "What in Duin's name are you doing out here?"
"Fighting a war." I grinned mischievously. "What did you expect?"
"But your wounds?" He pleaded.
I blocked an oncoming attack as Thorin beheaded the orc. "All healed thanks to Jenna's magic."
"Let the lass fight!" Dain bellowed at Thorin. "We could use all the help we could get!"
Thorin kissed me briefly. "Go on, do your duties." He smiled, hopeful.
"As you command my king." I bowed teasingly. With a simple thought I erupted into a mighty white wolf ripping into as many orcs that were unfortunate not to escape my line of sight.
Elves began to retreat as the wargs pushed them down from Ravin Hill heading straight for us. Catapults broke down the stone guards as they sacrificed themselves against the ruthless machines. Our lines and cavalry moved closer to the mouth of the mountain trying to regain ground. The orcs spilled over Ravin Hill.
"Retreat!" Thranduil ordered. "Retreat!"
A horn blew signaling a tactical retreat to regroup our lines. I rushed over blocking the oncoming attackers letting the elves rush over to Thorin and Dain's army. Wargs challenged me as I snapped with spines and tossed their bodies into the oncoming orcs. There were too many for me to handle alone.
