When Ashton woke up, Luke was already gone from the bed.
Luke had woken up around 5, getting up from the bed just so that Ashton didn't wake and find his ex boyfriend sleeping next to him. He didn't want to make the poor boy uncomfortable.
He had gone to his room to shower and get dressed, the after effects of the drug hitting him. He went downstairs groggily, glad that his family seemed to be gone. His parents looking at houses, and Ben at work. At least they didn't see him in that state, and wouldn't ask questions.
He began making breakfast, making them some pancakes. While one side of the pancakes was cooking, he sat down at the kitchen island, closing his eyes. He began to fall asleep, but he woke up when he heard gentle footsteps coming down the stairs.
He opened his eyes to find Ashton, standing at the bottom of the stairs with wide eyes once seeing Luke.
To others, he might have looked sickly. But to Luke, especially in the morning sun, the boy looked angelic again. He smiled softly at him, waving him over.
"Good morning," he said, his voice raspy. "I'm making breakfast. Sit down."
He turned his back to Ashton, smiling to himself as he flipped the pancake. He was happy that Ashton had been regaining his strength. He was happy that he didn't look so pained walking down the stairs.
He didn't want to face Ashton though, every time he even thought of his face his heart sunk with guilt. He plated the pancakes, grabbing the whipped cream and syrup. He made Ashtons pancakes all pretty, setting the plate down in front of Ashton.
Though he didn't want to look at him, Luke had to sneak in a look. His breath caught in his throat when he saw Ashton was looking right back at him, his eyes soft. He knew that Luke had gotten high the minute he saw how disheveled he looked.
Ashton was worried for him. He knew Luke had never done drugs, and doing such a hard one for his first time made Ashton worried for his health. He didn't speak up though, knowing that Luke wouldn't really appreciate his input.
He gave Luke a gentle smile before looking down at his pancakes, slowly picking up his fork and eating.
Luke smiled back, getting tears in his eyes from just thinking that he couldn't kiss Ashton in any way. He just needed his touch. But he wasn't sure if Ashton wanted the same thing.
With another sad smile, Luke turned back to the stove. He poured the pancake batter on the pan, humming quietly as he flipped the pancake. He felt a tap on his shoulder, so as anybody would do, Luke turned to look at the person who tapped him.
He looked down at the familiar, beautifully sculpted face. He looked into Ashton's beautiful, golden eyes. He gave him a confused smile, not sure what he wanted.
What came next absolutely shocked both boys.
Ashton had stood on his tip toes, leaning in close to Luke's face. Luke felt Ashton's hot breath on his lips for mere seconds before he had kissed him, and it came as an absolute surprise to both of them. Luke had no idea Ashton was going to kiss him, and Ashton had no idea what he was doing even after their lips had connected.
Luke kept his lips still as he processed what was going on. Ashton was kissing him. Ashton was kissing him. Ashton was kissing him. Those were the only thoughts in his head.
After a couple seconds, the younger boy kissed back. It was hesitant at first, but after a while he just couldn't hold back from kissing those soft lips he had dreamed of kissing for more than a week.
He smiled against his mouth, feeling Ashton's lips twist up in a smile as he felt Luke smile. He kept his lips on Luke's, pulling away a little to take a small breath before his lips were back on Luke's.
