Chapter 14 - Fragile

Donna woke up the following morning with slight aching in her thighs, and the first thing she noticed was that the left side of the bed was empty.

Dread washed over her as she sat up rather too quickly, muttering a curse under her breath when a jolt of pain shot through her legs. She felt pretty sore from last night, considering the fact it was her first time having sex.

She took another few moments to breathe slowly and lean her back against the headboard of the bed, waiting for the sweet pain to subside a little but the only thing running through her mind was where her lover had disappeared off to and whether she did something wrong last night that could've made Laika run away.

She was thankful to see that the maiden's button up shirt was still left on the floor beside the bed, and she decided to reach over for it and put it on, ignoring the fact it was a bit bigger than the clothes her size, but it was rather cold in the room.

'Trust Laika to open all the windows every darn morning.'

Her worries immediately dissolved when the doors opened and a tall maiden walked inside, carrying a tray filled with a couple of different dishes in one hand and a clean black dress in the other.

Their eyes met when Laika closed the door and set the tray down on a nearby desk. Donna immediately pulled the covers off herself and stood up a little shakily. Laika walked up to her and took a hold of her hips, steadying her when the Lady reached up to wrap her arms around the maiden's neck.

"Good morning.. is everything alright? I didn't think you'd wake up for another half an hour or so."

"You weren't there when I woke up and.. um–"

Donna slowly pulled away from Laika's embrace, locking her gaze on the beautiful eyes of her maiden. She brought a hand to her cheek and caressed the smooth skin gently as she spoke.

"I thought, perhaps you didn't enjoy our night together all that much and that you didn't wish t-to sleep beside me?"

"Donna.."

Laika sighed softly, taking the hand that caressed her in her own hand and pressing a gentle kiss on Donna's palm. She then leaned closer and planted a tiny kiss on the lord's forehead, making Donna squirm slightly and blush a pretty pink color.

"I slept by your side throughout the entire night, and I only left because I wanted to make you a nice breakfast since I assumed you'd be rather spent in the morning."

"Oh.. but what about-"

"I really enjoyed our night together, Donna. You were lovely."

Laika smiled softly then, and tilted the woman's head a little up in order to press their lips together. Donna allowed only a small peck before pulling away and looking off to the side, slightly embarrassed.

"I-I would like to freshen up first.. then we can kiss."

The maiden nodded and let go of her lover's hips, taking a step back and glancing down at the exposed body she made love to last night.

"That button-up looks good on you."

"It smells like you.."

Lilac and gooseberries.

Donna whispered shyly, and with one last glance at Laika she walked to the bathroom and closed the door behind. The maiden sighed, very aware of the sudden pang of arousal that shot through her body when she saw how perfect Donna looked in the morning.
