I was really happy when I got the news of Hajarahs wedding. It was on a faithful Sunday while I was sitting outside the prince's house like I usually do at times. I got a message from Hajarah that read "I'm getting married and you are my chief bridesmaid. Get ready to get caked up" she messaged. I laughed and texted back "Oh and me I'm marrying the rude prince" I texted back with a laughing emoji. She immediately sent me a picture of her invitation card, the Anko and her lefe. I was staggered, I felt maybe it was still a joke and I further replied with a laughing emoji again. She seemed annoyed so she immediately called me and explained everything to me. I was bewildered. Hajarah was getting hitched to the prince of Daura. And from all indications from her voice, she was really happy because she had known him since they were kids. So she said.

Presently, I was wearing a dress because I was made the chief bridesmaid. Seriously, it's been up to ten years since I wore a gown. And not to even talk of a tight gown for that matter, that was showing of my curves. I was Indeed looking pretty because I was made up, Yeah I was wearing heavy makeup and from all sides, anyone that sees me today would know I didn't like it. I was looking like the bride herself, my hair was jelled and tied in a bun. I looked too extravagant and Hajarah made sure I wore heels. The makeup artist had tied my scarf very tightly on my head. I was sure I was going to get a headache from this later on. When they were done, I looked in the mirror once again and I looked like I had fallen from a castle, I looked like a Cinderella.

"No, this is too much," I said to the makeup artist.

"No you look really beautiful, now I have to do Hajarah's makeup better so that you won't look more beautiful than the bride" She chuckled. I didn't even laugh which made her uncomfortable so she walked away. Staring into the mirror, I stared at the scar on my neck. It had disappeared just like it always does. My body was a type that heals quickly and covers the scars. The other girls In the room were all ready and dressed. We were all wearing a black laced gowns. Hajarah on the other hand was getting her dress fitted, she would be wearing a red dress. I knew she would rock it. And as for the prince, Haidar. He was going to attend in the place of his father and also he happens to be the groom's friend as well and was part of the groom's men. From what Hajarah had told me, the groom's men would be wearing black tuxedos with a touch of a white inner and a black bow tie. All the girls in the room were chatting about how they couldn't wait to see the prince, yeah you heard me right. Prince Haidar Jega. For some reason, they found him charming. Oh, poor people. That rude man.

I decided to leave to go take a look at Hajarah. When I got there she was already dressed in her red laced gown and her make-up looked spots on. Hajarah was looking very simple but extremely beautiful.

"Thanks for coming for me!" She hugged me tightly. I was happy to see her looking so happy.

"We are sisters!" I hugged her back.

"I think it's time for us to leave. I can't miss my wedding dinner" She said and we both chuckled. We all got ready and left, including the other girls who took the limousine. Hajarah and I drove in a G-wagon. She didn't like the limo and wanted to be alone with me in the car.

"I can't wait for you to get married," She said. I didn't respond but simply smiled.

"I'm never getting married," I said after a while and she burst out laughing. The driver had to turn back and take a look at us. I shot him a glare to face the road of course.

"Why are you saying that? Of course, you will. I'm sure my brother still has feelings for you" She said. I rolled my eyes, even if I was to marry I would never marry her brother. He was not my type of Man and certainly would never match with me.

"We shall see though. But I'm sure I will never get married" I said and she laughed again. We arrived at the Adewale Hall. We all alighted from the car with me holding onto Hajarahs sweaty arm. She was nervous. I chuckled at that, I couldn't remember the last time I felt nervous.

The groom and his friends were already inside and Hajarah was going to walk down the Aisle to meet her groom. I was going to accompany her along with the president. Oh, I hated all this kind of cheesy kinds of stuff but I had to stand for my friend. We got to the front of the hall and we began walking in slowly with the bridal train behind us. Her father who was already waiting for us along with his bodyguards immediately held her arm. Everyone in the hall stood up as she walked towards her groom with me and her father by her side. I could see Haidar's face from a distance and his eyes were fixated on me. I felt uncomfortable now, not nervous. I could never get nervous. He was staring at me in awe, I immediately looked away to avoid the uneasy feeling that came with his stares. I felt like the world was moving slowly because we had not reached the groom. I was tired of walking slowly. But then, patience was indeed a virtue so immediately we got to him and he held her arm. I turned away and found my destination away from all the wedding Commotion. I wanted to breathe In some fresh air. So I went into the restroom. God! I hated social gatherings. Yeah, I was going to go back to Hajarah but right now. I needed space.
