"My brilliant brain remembered someone said she don't want to see my good-looking face-"
"Shut up or I'll behead you before the hunters."
"So confidence facing this tremendous demon, huh? Don't you feel you're risking your life encountered with this wanted demon by those hunters? Aren't you that desperate to cease your lifespan?" he asked, quoting his hand in the air while pressing the 'demon' words came out from his mouth.
You cross your arm and fold into your chest. "And what if I do?" Your eyebrow jerked, deadpanned towards his way.
He doesn't reply.
"You better shut your ugly mouth before we get caught."
"I'm not that ugly- HMMMFFF!"
You swiftly covered his mouth with your small hand after you perceived a faint of footsteps nearby. You shove him inch away from the outside, hiding behind the wall more while leaning back to the wall. Your arm lifted, pushed him towards the wall, alerting the people outside the wall. The sound of the footsteps rustles increased, you both two hold your breath, avoiding from being overheard by the people.
'Come on... I can't hold this any longer...' you closed your eyes tight, gripping on your haori while your eyes stayed on the running people outside the wall.
You regret your decision to stay in that place, allegedly, visiting the night market but currently stuck and bury yourself with the brainless demon.
No more footsteps or any related sounds indicated the people, slowly you poke out your head, rotate around, ensuring there's no more people out there to catch you two. You inhale and exhale in relief, slump your back onto the wall.
"Here. Rub on your neck."
"What is that? Poison? Why should I listened to you-"
"If you value yourself and want to live a long time, Put it."
He groans irritatedly, taking your small potion bottle and opening the cap, rubbing the extract liquid on his neck with a frown.
"What is that for?"
"Shorten your lifespan."
"Oi!! You-!"
"That was supposed to put off your scent from being detected by those hunters for a while. And it doesn't have odor, so you can relax for the time being. Here, smell it." you took the small potion glass from his hand, two drops on your fingers and reached towards the skeptical demon, looking at you in doubt.
"This... actually belonged to my ancestor a long time ago and I always bring it with me... for some reason."
His chirpy mouth was shut, no more smirk or annoyed tone going through your drum. Confused by his antic, you lifted your brow, waiting for his jested but no words coming from him.
No lame words from his mouth? Not asking who this ancestor of mine is, not even bothered if I'm just bluffing or whatever?
Honestly, you still yet to know how this potion worked on him but you remember your late grandmother always remind you to keep it with you when you're alone and going anywhere. And you are still doing it until now.
It feels weird when this unknown demon keeps bothering you like a parasite but you still wish this potion will work on him too as the situation has changed now. You really hate to admit you can't let this demon alone and be caught even though you know your action might consume the worst imaginable than you can imagine yourself.
For some unknown reason, you want to save him and take him away from those people who tried to hurt him. It's kind of weird when usually, the demons can heal themselves and the wounded would disappear in just a few seconds.
