I stomped my feet off the hallways at school, looking for the one and only Luke Robert Hemmings. I need to talk to him. I went to his locker but he wasn't there, I tried the music room (because he loves to go there) but he still wasn't there, lastly I went to the cafeteria which was crowded here and there.

I searched for him on every corner of the room until I finally found him sitting on a table with Ashton. I walked up to them and called Luke, but neither of them were paying attention to me. They were busy laughing their butts off so I shouted,"Luke Robert Hemmings!"

He finally stopped laughing and faced me. "What is it, Hailey Rose Smith?"

"We need to talk." I snapped at him. I grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the room and down the empty hallway. It was silent there, so I thought it was a good place to talk.

"Luke, are you sure you saw Ella and Calum making out?" I questioned him.

"Yeah," he said hesitantly, running his hand through his blonde hair.

"Luke, don't you dare lie to me." I said sternly. "Please, tell me the truth."

"I am!"

"You're not!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"Luke, just fucking tell her already!" Michael appeared out of nowhere and came between us.

"Thanks Mike," I said and Michael  walked away, leaving the two of us alone again. I faced Luke, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Tell me." I said and he let out a sigh before finally speaking.

"I lied to you." He said, covering his face with his hands.

"How could you?" I said.

"I... I don't know. I just didn't like Ella anymore so I broke up with her."

"Why don't you like her anymore?" I asked, really confused with this breakup thing.

"Because I like you!" He dropped his hands on either side. "And I only realized that I really liked you when you got together with Calum. That's why I made up a story to make Calum look bad to you and..." Luke trailed off, placing his hands on his face again like he's ashamed of what he just said.

"Luke, you didn't have to make up a story," I said. "I mean, I like you too but not in the way that I like Calum. I love Calum."

"I'm sorry, Hailey. I'm sorry for fucking things up." Luke said, and I nodded at him.

I didn't known what else to say or do so I just turned around and walked away from him, only to see Ella standing there. She probably heard everything Luke said because there were tears on the corners of her eyes. When she saw me walking up to her, she wiped her eyes with her hands quickly and walked away, but I followed her.

"Ella!" I shouted at her, but she didn't look back. I saw her walk in the girl's comfort room so I followed her there again.

Once I got inside, I locked the door behind me and walked up to Ella, who was looking at herself in the mirror, her eyeliner running down her face.

She caught sight of me and told me to go away from her but I stayed. I know she needs somebody right now, with everything going on.

"Luke loves you, not me." She mumbled and more tears came out. I placed a hand on her shoulder but she took it away.

"But I love Calum, not Luke." I said to her but she just ignores me like she didn't even hear what I've said. She cleaned up her face and applied her makeup again, not paying attention to whatever was coming out of my mouth.

"Ella, please–"

"No, Hailey. I want you to feel what I felt when you literally shut me off." She said and walked out of the room.

I stared into my reflection in the mirror and wiped the tears that came out of eyes with the back of my hand. Now Ella hates me.
