Chapter 2
Nick
I saw her. I actually saw her. After 4 years I saw her.
Wait... I saw her. I... don't know what to think.
How am I supposed to feel?
Do I deserve... to feel happy?
Shaking my head, to be rid of these imposing thoughts I land in front of V.I.L.L.A.I.N Academy.
The school gave you the impression that it was just that. A school for villains. Dark twisting turrets made of the type of stone you'd find in fairy tales. Grey and cobbled. The tips of the turrets were as black as the souls of the inhabitants of the building. Gates the colour of the darkest smoke. Snarling Cerberus statues stood, baring their teeth at anyone who dares to venture towards the ghastly structure.
Home sweet home.
I marched past the Cerberus statues and made my way to the weapons atrium. I glanced at all the blades. Sharp. Pointed. Deadly. Laying all the weapons I had on the table I ran a hand through my hair.
Should I delay the inevitable lecture I was going to receive when I report?
Sure, why not?
I walked out of the academy, taking my sweet time to get to Poracia Residency. The residency was a place for all the villain students to stay.
The dorms were dark. The windows let in yellow light and during the night torches and the moon were the only source of light. Windows made of a dark, soot coloured zirconium that twisted and turned to make a floral pattern. The roofs were all painted with different stories of times before we were born and the walls were all dark. Marbled effects were splattered here and there while the handrails on any staircase were made of dark oak and white marble made for the tread and string.
Lovely isn't it?
I walked between students and barged into my dorm scaring the wits out of my roommate Simon, along with someone you could call our friend. Nova.
Me and Si had only become friends 2 years ago. He was the only tolerable person at this insufferable school...
He and I told each other everything after we became friends. It's weird living with someone for two years and not knowing anything about them but we made it work.
Until one day 2 years ago he broke the ice.
You see, his mom was murdered when he was only 10. His dad became a professor here at the academy dragging his son with him. Simon was never the same after his mother's death. At least, that's everything I know.
Nova was the only other person I could do within this hell. She took an interest in the loner boy who ignored everyone after being dragged here by the principal himself. Making small talk, after I became friends with Simon her visits and conversations became frequent. Eventually, we formed a small group. The only beacon of hope in this miserable dump.
"Hey! How'd the mission go?" Simon questioned after regaining his composure. I closed the door to our room, which was pretty small mind you, before turning to face him with a serious look on my face.
"A... a lot happened." His eyes met mine and he instantly knew. Nova's azure gaze was fixated on me her brows arching in interest.
"No way... tell me everything!" It's at times like these that I truly feel like Simon is my older brother. He is a year older than me which adds to that. But he really is like a brother. Nova would be our little sister.
