Chapter 6

Nick

I couldn't believe my eyes. 4 years later I was finally back.

Back where I belong...

Well not yet.

But this phase should be the first step to it.

I blow out a breath and look at the blueprint of the academy at the door. If Nai didn't change her and the other two's dorm then it shouldn't be too hard to get there. I wonder what her room looks like? I wonder if they changed the layout? Is her duvet design the same? I chuckled as the image of their room as I remember it came to mind. All those times we'd hind under it whispering and chatting until Sam and June shooed me out.

As I fish around my belt searching for a grappling hook my mind starts to wander.

Is she still training her butt off all the time? I used to drag her away from the damn gym as she grumbled and moaned.

Is she still disciplined and doesn't dare to go to bed after 9?

Does she still get shy whenever she gets something right in front of the class but preens about it later?

There was so much I remembered... none of it made a difference though she doesn't remember me and I missed 4 years... so much I don't know. Smiling sadly I finally found what I was looking for.

I send the grappling hook soaring towards the window below my target. With one firm tug, I followed the path the hook had been on a moment ago and landed right on the window sill. Detaching the metal piece from the crevice it was stuck in I look inside the window.

My breath catches.

Crap.

Wrong window. She must have moved. Cursing under my breath I tap my comm and Si's voice crackles on the other side.

"What's up, man?"

"Wrong window."

He cursed before I heard the tapping of keys and he blew out a breath.

"I pointed out your location she moved to the other side dummy," I muttered a few colourful words before I asked him for the directions.

"Jump a window up then scale to the other end of the building. I'll tell you to stop when you reach her window."

I exhaled slowly and made my way up a window careful not to fall. Once that succeeded I used a hand to fish for my suction gloves on the belt. It took a struggle and a pinch of my lifetime before I got the first one on. Switching hands I use the one with the glove to cling on for dear life as I struggle to get the other one on.

"Any day now Nick."

"You try holding on for dear life while putting on suction gloves." I challenge as I finally manage to get both gloves securely attached to my hand. I tap my wrist to activate the suction function on the inky leather as I slowly make my way around.

"One more window and she'll be there." I nod my head and stop at the window.

Sweet skies above.

The warm glow of buttery light pooled from the room which was split between the three girls. June was on her bed, vines wrapped around her bed's headboard. Her area didn't change. Bright pink and girly. Sam was strumming her ukulele in her goth girl area and Nai had just walked in. The room hadn't changed. The location did but the layout and design was identical. Maybe that means... she hasn't changed? Maybe I didn't miss much. After all, they say your bedroom reflects your personality...maybe she didn't change... who am I kidding? 4 years... I know I changed. She must have too. They all did. We... all did.
