Trapped

Chapter Two

Adrian P.O.V

I splashed water over my face.It was very warm and it was already dark."We'd get there very soon",Jack said."How much longer",I asked grunting."Few minutes more",came the reply."I'm so hungry", Jack complained."Great", I said and rolled my eyes.We walked up to the house and Jack knocked on the door."Who is it",a female voice asked."Dr.Starks told us to deliver this package to you", I answered."Oh, hold on", the voice said and opened the door.It was a woman in her fourties, she smiled and collected the package.Jack prescribed the drugs in the package to her."Thank you", she said simply and closed the door.We went back to the car and changed the flat tire."I have to go home ", I told Jack." Nina would be worried by now", I added.Nina was my younger sister and I'd taken responsiblity over her since mum died after dad accidently as he said, hit her with a glass bottle.She died instantly and dad was thrown into jail.I had to take on part-time jobs to fend for myself and Nina.Nina was asthmatic too;I had to get inhalers and made sure she was comfortable too.I was a doctor in term in the hospital I was serving and had two years left.Mum tried saving up for my medical fees but it wasn't enough.I took a student loan and had started paying it by doing part-time jobs but it was still much and I have to work harder to pay them off.We changed the tyre and Jack drove off.Half an hour later, I saw Nina standing outside;her eyes worried."You're right", Jack said and nodded towards Nina."Yeah, see you tomorrow", I said to Jack and went out of the car."Adrian, you're home late",Nina said moving towards me."I'm sorry sis",I replied hugging her deeply."Sorry about that though", I said to her."Had to run errands with Jack for Dr Starks",I added.
"I'm glad you're home anyway",Nina said smiling." I prepared dinner",she added as we went inside the house. "How was school today",I asked as I sat down on the couch." T'was fun and eventful",Nina replied as she served dinner."Mr.Woods flared up at Alex for disrespecting him and sent Alex to the principal's office.Alex walked up to Mr Woods and pecked him on the cheek, Mr.Woods was red in the face",Nina explained as she giggled."Alex is gay?",I asked smiling."Nah, he did it deliberately to make Mr.Woods mad",Nina replied laughing this time."What was wrong with teenagers of nowadays anyway", I mused.
"I  got myself a perfume, Ad",Nina said calling me out of my thoughts." It's Victoria's Secret",she added and went to her  room to get it."Look at it",she said holding up the bottle so I could see it."I haven't tried using it",she said and tried opening it.
I collected it from her quickly, "What are you doing, Adrian?",she asked frowning." Do I have to remind you about your condition",I asked her rhetorically."You're asthmatic and should stay away from stuffs like that",I added smirking."Fine",she muttered."I'm sorry, Nina but you should know that you are delicate and should be treated with care",I said pulling her into a hug."I guessed I was being overexcited",Nina said whispering."It's okay to be excited but always remember who you are", I told her kissing her forehead."Let's eat,dinner's getting cold",Nina mumbled. "Sure",I replied.We sat down and had dinner in silence." You're going to work tomorrow", Nina asked smiling this time. "I am, very early;same time you're leaving for school",  I replied." That's cool",she replied.
"Nina,  are you mad at me",I asked." Nah, how could I be", you obviously want the best for me and you risk everything for me.I'm proud of you Ad",she whispered and smiled."I love you sis",I said and kissed her cheek.
