Chapter Nine

Adrian P.O.V

I ran inside Nina's ward as fast as I could and looked around.I walked up to her bed side.She looked paler than before and her breathing was slow.She was given drips.I sat beside her."Nina",I called quietly but she didn't open ber eyes."Oh God",I said to my self ."Adrian",Dr.Stevens walked up to me ."Yeah",I said standing up."Let's talk in my office",he said and walked towards the room.I followed him and sat down facing him."Nina was rushed by her teacher here.She needs a new lung,Adrian",Dr.Stevens said."New lungs?",I asked looking confused."Nina's lung is now very weak and has two options ;she either gets a lung transplant or we use lymph mode to create a new one for her",Dr.Stevens explained."She's being taken care of but we need the money for the surgery fast,Adrian",he added."I'll get it as soon as possible",I said trying hard not to break down."You're strong,Adrian but I can't help you this time",Dr.Stevens said patting my shoulder.I walked out of his office back into the ward where Nina was."Nina",I called again.There was no response."She's gonna be fine",the nurse-in-attendance told me.I smiled and walked out of the ward.Everything would be sorted soon.I decided to go up to Room 16 to see how she's faring.I used the elevator to 13th floor.I opened the elevator and walked out towards the room.The body guards saw me and Instead of hassling me;made way for me.I used the passcodes and entered.I walked towards her bed,"she was asleep again",I thought.I thought about Nina."I'm breaking into pieces,how do I get money for Nina's lung transplant,student loan and house rent",I said loudly breaking down.
"What If I give the money",a voice said behind me.I looked around me in shock.It was the lady called tori;she opened her eyes ."What If I give you the money",she repeated looking at me.Her blue eyes were cold.I was too stunned to say anything so I decided to dial Dr.Kingston's number."If you make that call,I wouldn't give you the money and your sister would not make it",she said this time.I continued staring at  her wordless.I looked at her hand;it had been torn by glass bottle obviously and blood on it had dried up."What did you do to yourself",I asked rushing to her side and lifted the hand that was hurt."Don't say a word and just clean it up",she ordered."Sure",I said as my thoughts wandered.My sister's life is on the line and she said she'd give me the money.I had to cooperate to save Nina's life."Thanks",was all she said after I cleaned her up and dressed her wound.I moved to the restroom to wash my hands but I saw something on the floor.It looked like a body.I walked towards it and checked.It was Judith's body.Her face was already colorless and her neck was slitted.Her head was hit by a glass bottle too."What happened ",I thought as I walked up back to the lady on the bed."What did you do",I asked staring at her closely.She blinked when she saw my expression."I only defended myself,any problem with that?",she asked frowning."I was kept in this room for four years,do you know how I felt beingbdrugged and taken care of like a doll. Judith treats me like a doll and I wanted to die.She  can toss me around but I had to put an end to that sooner",she told me."I just need to be patient a bit more."I'd get hold of Kingston and Zayn",she added grinning."And for you,you'd better think of what to tell Kingston.You cannot tell him that I'm awake or that I killed Judith too and In exchange of that,I'd save your sister" ."Deal or no deal",she said releasing her grip on the tube.The effect would take at least two minutes before it circulates around her body."Deal",I answered looking into her eyes closely."Who was this lady",I thought."Very well then",was her reply before when closed her eyes.I just had to find Dr.Kingston.
