Chapter 2: The reintroduction of the dead

Sonic and Tails stared in shock at what happened. Metal Sonic had a majority of his armor destroyed leaving only a few pieces being held together by sheer will along with missing his entire lower body. The red and blue stranger then turned his attention to Tails who had gotten up from the ground. Reaching out his hand to help the young fox who reluctantly let him lift him up. The stranger then removed his armor by merely dissipating small particles entering their respective bottle. Sonic and Tails could get a better look at this guy. He definitely likes an older Tails a similar height as sonic just a tad shorter, the orange-yellowish fur, even down to the two tails. But there were differences: His fur had some darker orange spots mainly on his ears and the ends of his Tails along with a faint scar on the top of his head covered slightly by ruffled fur with the most obvious differences being his beige cotton coat and dual colored shoes that matched his bottles.

"Well it was nice helping you out but I need to get to babysitting a Jackal right now." He responded as he began walking away. Sonic ran in front of him before he could take another step, "Hold it there! Where do you think you're going after what you just did to Metal!" The stranger looked back at the mangled corpse only shrugging in response, "I think that was just a drone and plus like I said I need to babysit an eager kid." Tails' ears perked up when he heard "Jackal" he wondered if maybe it had something to do with him. Just the thought of it made him clench is fist in rage that could rival shadow. Before any other questions could be asked someone shouted out, "Help has arrived!" before sonic got dropped kicked in the back by someone wearing a different set of armor. The civilians that witnessed this recognized who this was someone who earlier this day took out a monster using a pinecone shaped lock.

This new stranger now pointed a spear at Sonic, "Stand down unless you want to face the wrath of Armored Rider: Pine Arms!" He then looked up at the Tails look alike as though waiting for approval being met with a silent response with him pointing at the smoking Metal Sonic. "O-oh..." turning to look at Sonic dropping his spear and helping Sonic up to his feet apologizing profusely while doing so. "I guess you didn't need any help after Sento?" He referred to the older Fox who responded, "Clearly I didn't. Why didn't you stay on the train? You're still injured from that fight with the monster earlier," walking towards and pulling out the pinecone lock from his belt revealing having the become in a bright flash. The one underneath this armor was the jackal Sento was mentioned as "babysitting." It was none other than infinite who didn't seem to notice Sonic's reaction of utter shock and Tails' of absolute horror. "Sorry Sento. I just wanted to help and prove that I can be a Rider!" "Well you can apologize by getting this shopping list out of the way then." pulling from his coat pocket a small paper list. Sonic's mind was racing with curiosity and confusion. How did he come back? What in the world is a"Rider"? And why was Infinite so casual and acted more like a regular kid as opposed to the last time he met with his angst personality. Tails began to radio everyone he could Amy, knuckles, Shadow, and Blaze. He finally radioed the one who would know more than anyone about who Infinite was: Gadget the Wolf. Despite his frantic manner of calling everyone his mind was swirling with a singular thought. How was he going to get revenge for almost killing his friends and destroying the world?
