Atlanta
2 days before the outbreak:
"Brielle! Come on down! Hurry up, you and Noah will be late for school, and I have to get back to work!" a female, seemingly on her 30's yelled as she walked out of the kitchen and stood in front of the house stairs; she seemed tired.
She frowned as she gave a glance to her wristwatch. It was around 7:40 am.
Hurried footsteps were heard as a younger teenager walked down the stairs with a backpack and the purse on her hands.
Her brunette mid-length hair was paired in twin fish braids. She was wearing a golden necklace, some tight black jeans, a jean jacket, and a white v neck t-shirt; these were accompanied by her black and white vans.
"Oh, mom. Noah is slower than me, but you somehow always seem to call me out first." The younger girl—Brielle— retorted instead.
She glanced at the elder female—her mother— as she gave her the purse. She noticed how tired her mother was.
"Will you be okay tonight?" the girl asked genuinely as her mom took the purse from her hands.
"I have the longest shift today, Brie. (glancing at her while releasing a tired sigh). Other than that, I'll survive, my darling (she finished). Noah, come on or you walk to school!" Isabelle said as she kissed her daughter on the forehead and fixed her nurse light-blue uniform.
The moment Isabelle yelled at her son that last sentence, a young teenager had appeared walking down the stairs in a hurry.
He was wearing a simple royal blue t-shirt with the same golden necklace as his sibling, and this piece of royal blue shirt, was accompanied by his black leather jacket and some blue tight jeans. His shoes were white converse.
"Sorry, mom. Couldn't find my hair spray." Noah joked—clearly lying and being sarcastic— as he smiled and place his phone on the back pocket of his jeans.
He walked towards his mother and gave her a kind kiss on her cheek. He then moved to the kitchen and grabbed an already made sandwich that was laying on the counter.
Isabelle turned around to see both of her children at the kitchen eating their breakfast while standing on their feet.
"I'll be working overtime. Please, both of you act properly and respect the house hours. I don't want you two arriving late after school. I'll see you both tomorrow at night." Isabelle said as she walked outside with the car keys and her purse.
Both of her children followed as they ate their sandwiches along the way.
While opening the garage's white door, their neighbor residing in front of their house—Josh— waved at Isabelle and her children.
"Morning, Isabelle!" the male wearing home clothes said as he smiled and grabbed the newspaper laying on the front of his porch; he had a coquettish smile towards Isabelle.
Isabelle waved back at her neighbor Josh since she was a kind person. Brielle—however— faked a smile and Noah kept an indifferent attitude towards him. They seemed not to like Josh, specially Noah himself.
"Noah, you could've least smiled." Brielle commented under her breath, still faking a smile Josh's way.
Noah chuckled sarcastically and rolled his eyes as he placed his belongings inside the car.
"He's a douchebag. We all know he cheats on his wife and just wants to get under mom's—" he said but was interrupted by a hit on the back of his head.
