20 hours before the outbreak:

As Noah was about to inspect the individual behind the door, they heard how the person behind it was messing with the lock, trying to open it.

Noah and Brielle glanced at each other silently and Noah signaled her to stay in defensive as he hid behind the door in offensive.

After a few seconds, the individual opened the door just to reveal Josh Williams—the neighbor— alongside his two daughters, his eldest son, and his wife.

They were all wearing sport clothing and were carrying backpacks. Josh and his eldest son had fire-weapons to defend themselves and their family. Josh having a shotgun and his son carrying a hand-gun and a knife.

Noah was about to swing his bat on his head until Josh's scream made him realize who was it.

"Woah, woah! Hold it, kid!" the black haired-man yelled.

"Williams? (lowering his bat and glancing at him in confusion). What the hell?!" Noah yelled at him.

"Why are you trying to open our locks? Do you even know what's been going on?" Brielle asked him as she approached them, not allowing them to walk any step further; she was angry, just as her sibling.

It wasn't because of them being there, but rather the way Josh and his family had decided to barge in their house without even knocking that bothered greatly the twins.

"Please... Allow me to explain..." the brown eyed man, Josh barely replied as he glanced in detail to both Noah and Brielle.

Josh's wife—Emily— stepped to the front with a frightened face. She fixed her low ponytail to her back and cleared the bangs of her blonde hair from in between her green eyes. She had the intention to deescalate the atmosphere.

"Please, my husband and us just came to help. We saw you both arrive earlier, and we know your mother can't leave the hospital until the emergency is over." She explained.

"Allow us to be together. That way we can help each other. It's already 9 'o clock. You shouldn't spend the night alone." Josh added.

Noah scoffed in disbelief to Josh's words.

"Yeah, we don't need your help, Josh." Noah quickly spit at Josh's comment as he glared at him.

Brielle glared at her brother as she told him with her gaze to stop talking. Noah saw her and just rolled his eyes as he stood beside his twin sister quietly. Brielle then proceeded to speak back to them.

"Listen... We appreciate your good intentions, but mom taught us do defend for ourselves, we'll be fine during the night, and we have everything we need right here." Brielle responded with courtesy.

"We understand, but since it is not safe, I insist we pass the night together. We have everything we need in our backpacks. We won't bother or anything. These days we must be alert and protect each other." Josh replied.

Brielle sighed in frustration. Josh's and his family insistence was really bothering her, but she preferred to accept it for the night since Josh and Emily's daughters seemed frightened and were only 7 years old, and also because she remembered that her mother always said to treat everyone with kindness.

She glanced back at her brother Noah as if she was asking for his opinion. He glanced at her and looked at her to the eyes as if he was screaming no.

Brielle turned her gaze back at the Williams family; she had made a decision.

"Alright. You can spend the night here." Brielle began.

Noah scoffed in frustration; not caring if Josh or his family would notice. He was still angry for the few manners they had earlier.
