Atlanta Neighborhood, 3:00 pm
2 hours before the outbreak:
After a long while of driving, they were finally able to stop by Sarah's neighborhood. The place was deserted as most of the places around the city.
It didn't surprise Isabelle, but it did cause worriedness. She was hoping that Sarah's daughter and sister were safe and sound, but they would have to go and see for themselves if what they hoped for would truly happen.
As they stood silent, Samuel parked right in front of the house. He stayed there as he glanced back at the two nurses through his rearview mirror.
"I'll stay in the car watching out (he began), unless you girls want me to enter the house with you." Samuel said as he glanced at both Isabelle and Sarah waiting for their answer.
Sarah went out of the car as Isabelle followed and looked back at the couple inside of the car. They both noticed the grey skies; seems it would rain anytime soon.
"I think it's best for you to stay here with Mary. I'll keep Sarah safe in the meantime." Isabelle replied as she held her gun in her right hand and placed it around her waist.
"Belle, let's go." The frightened and anxious Sarah said as she walked towards the house's entrance with fear and as she kept her arms crossed because of the fear she is experiencing.
"We'll try to be quick." Isabelle told the couple as she quickly went Sarah's way and with her weapon in hand, she took the lead to the house' entrance.
Isabelle knocked softly at the door and waited for a couple of seconds, but no one answered. She glanced at the nervous Sarah as she began to turn slowly the doorknob to open the door; the door was surprisingly unlocked.
"Stay behind me." Isabelle whispered to her friend as she began to look inside the house cautiously.
Both of them entered the house slowly and Sarah closed the door behind her.
"Aria? Nora? Are you in here?" Sarah called them out as she followed Isabelle to the back of the house; Isabelle being cautious the whole time.
"Strange, the lights are off and the curtains locked." Isabelle thought to herself as she observed her surroundings as cautious as possible.
They explored the entire downstairs section of the house and noticed that it was a mess, seems someone had entered the house and stole multiple accessories. Between the most noticeable were the food cans from the kitchen, and weaponry.
"I bet someone came in..." Isabelle commented.
Isabelle's comment caused more fear on whatever awaited for Sarah; she wanted to see her sister and daughter and the waiting was getting on her nerves.
"Oh, God, please let them be okay." Sarah thought as she followed Isabelle and looked around.
A sudden thud was heard from right above both of them; they stopped in their tracks as they both looked at each other.
"Do you have an attic?" Isabelle asked her friend.
"Yeah, I think they could be hidden in there." Sarah replied with a sight of hope on her gaze.
"Right. Come on." Isabelle replied as she went upstairs alongside Sarah. This time, Sarah was carrying with her a piece of a long metallic tube she found on the floor on her way upstairs.
They walked down the hallways after checking room by room, getting no sign of life, but noticing blood stains and resistance of two or more people who fought; there were also scratches.
