You're not Atlanta P.D. Where are you from?" he asked as he glanced at me.
"Up the roadways." I responded as I sighed, calming myself a bit more after every breath.
He laughed.
"Well, officer friendly, from up the roadways, welcome to the big city." He replied.
As he said that we glanced through the whole main streets. All of them were filled with Walkers. It was going to be an absolute challenge to get out of this place, but after a brief moment of brainstorming, we were lucky enough to find a way out. Down.
T-Dog stayed with the intercom trying to communicate with the rest people back at the camp and Glenn, Andrea, Morales, Jacqui, and I went back downstairs to check the other possible exit Jacqui herself had suggested; the sewers.
For our condemn, there was no way for us to go down there. Even though it was smart, part of the path was both locked and blocked with a metallic and resistant grid that would take Morales at least two days to break. We didn't have two days.
As Glenn went back up to where we were—the rooftop— he notified us.
"We're back to square one. Down there is no way to go." Glenn said in exasperation.
I glanced at him and patted his shoulder to comfort him. I could tell he was extremely tense and frustrated, but since he seems the nicest one and smartest on the group, I was trying to comfort him so he wouldn't fall in much more distress than all of us already are.
"Alright... what other things can we use to pass right by them?" I quickly asked.
"We can't." Andrea said.
"Why?" I asked.
"They would eat you alive." Jacqui added.
"They can smell you, see you and hear you. If they grab you, they eat you." Glenn said.
"They can tell us by smell? I asked astonished.
"Can't you?" Glenn asked, unexpectedly; I must say, in other circumstances that would've funny to hear.
" I mean, it's pretty distinct. They smell dead, we don't." Andrea added.
I looked down to the floor as I remembered something. As a thought popped into my head, I looked back at them.
" I think I got an idea." I said as I went back down; all of them followed me; including T-Dog.
As we arrived downstairs, I quickly entered to the back room at our left.
"What are you doing?" Jacqui asked as she followed me down the path to the back room where I stood before with Glenn when we came from outside.
I turned around to face them as I kept myself as serene as possible. What I was about to say may sound like a madman speaking, but it was necessary for us to survive and leave the building.
"Alright, are there any gloves, axes, and lab coats around?" I quickly asked.
"I think I saw a couple of lab coats on the other room. I'll get them." Morales quickly replied as he sprinted out the room we all were to get them.
"Alright, Andrea, Jacqui bring down those two axes (as I pointed behind both of them). Bring me some gloves too, and T-Dog, bring me those two industrial safety masks." I finished as I opened the map and looked for an alternate route alongside Glenn.
We both kneeled at the ground as I placed the map on the floor.
"Alright... You see this here? I think if we go down this way we might be able to get to the truck I saw before. The one we both spotted back when we were at the ceiling." I said as I traced down a route with my index finger from where we were standing to where the transport was.
