AN: *update* unfortunately i had realised that i suffer from "aussie writes american love story" disease and even though december in america would be fairly cold, i'm writing it as if its a winter morning in australia 😃 this just means it's a lot less cold in comparison to the usual "white xmas" sorry for the confusion baes!! it wont make much of a difference tbh 😜

3rd person POV

you are my sun.
the early morning kiss i so desperately crave,
the sweet summer breeze drifting past me,
a breath of fresh air after a lifetime inside.
powerful, beautiful, magical.
a holy trinity that only you could master.
as your hands tangle in my hair, my mind slips away,
always wondering if this is real,
you by definition are too good to be true.
how could you love a girl so obsessive over what is you?
arms draped around me,
don't let me go or i'll float away,
needing you like the moon needs her counterpart
you are my sun.

Rebekah fumbles slender fingers over the messy piece of paper. Re-reading as though her life depends on it, fawning over a page she is unsure was even written for her. You are my sun, repeating through the blondes racing mind. The distant idea a woman like Ocean could be so infatuated as to write a poem made her swoon. However the irony crept up on the lovesick girl, realising just how bittersweet this poem had been. How could Rebekah be the very thing that enslaves her? Irony sucks. Everything does really. Ocean could never love her truly, not unless she knew the truths Rebekah so precariously kept from her. In all honesty if it were up to her she would keep it from her lover forever, even if she knew it were wrong.

The warm morning air lazily pushing the sheer curtains back and forth. Crackling candles wafting the beautiful caramel scent throughout Ocean's room. December was such a beautiful time of year. Distant sounds of trickling water from the next room over painting quite obscene imagines of the brunette in Rebekah's mind. They'd thought nothing could beat their beautiful night experiences, that was until their first morning together. Tangled underneath the feather doona, wrapped lovingly around one another. Slowly stirring awake just to stare aimlessly into each others eyes. Tired laughter and soft touches. Ocean gazing over Rebekah's frame as she drifts out of the room. Rebekah doing the same when it came time for Ocean to shower. She's contemplated asking to join her, regretting the idea once she'd realised the impracticality of it all. I mean would she really want to awkwardly stand shivering during half of the shower?

Rebekah lay quietly, drifting in and out of consciousness as the urge to sleep pulls her mind away. The pattering of water halting as Ocean slips out of the shower. Delicate footsteps echoing into the silence of the room. The blonde's excitement overriding her sleepiness as she snaps up. The brunette fully dressed, much to her dismay.

"Good morning" Rebekah mumbles, still waking up.

"Good morning! What should we do today darl?" Ocean smiles, maybe a little too happy for this time of day.

Rebekah furrows her brows, stretching her arms open and silently inviting Ocean in.

Playfully rolling her honey coloured eyes before embracing her girl friend, wondering if she'd ever find the courage to ask her out. It'd been only a month since they'd formally met, however when true love meets you don't tend to second guess it.

Breakfast in the Dubois household was always more chaotic than it needed to be. Pots, pans and sometimes knives flying around the large, open kitchen. It was a typical old house, mismatched colour themes, hard wood and overly fancy architecture. Unfortunately the kitchen was more mismatched than anything else. A rainbow of fading blues and yellows randomly sat on cupboards and draws made the heart of the house feel... comforting. Colour magic as Evangeline would call it, earning a groan from the overly dramatic sisters. They just thought it was ugly.
This morning was oddly calm thanks to Rebekah's decision to cook for Ocean and Alisha rather than with them. Due to the time, it was more like an early Brunch meaning the Salvatore girl opted for bacon and eggs. A classic.
