The news regarding Baby Mikaelson and Ocean's initial meeting spread the French Quarter like wildfire. It was something that had The Hybrid pacing in his study, clutching dearly to his trusted whiskey bottle. Why was his child reacting to a Dubois in such a grand way? Was this Celeste Dubois' doing? Did she just place a curse on his baby? Paranoia flooded his mind in ways he'd never experienced. Naturally he sought the assistance of the otherwise deemed untrustworthy Freya Mikaelson. In a month he'd found himself inching toward the idea of being a 'big happy family', this included the acceptance of his long-lost older sister. Begrudgingly, he abided to this fictional idea of family stability in hopes of gaining a powerful ally.
Rebekah Mikaelson was caught in a conflicted state of happiness. It was bittersweet her unborn niece reacted so beautifully with Ocean Dubois. Perhaps she should be angry the girl who unknowingly found yet another way to weasel herself into Rebekah's somewhat rebuilt life. Prior to last week, the only place you'd catch the youngest Mikaelson sibling was in the comfort of her wonderous depression room. There were more empty bottles and moulding food rotting in the large room than Rebekah could even process. She'd sworn she saw mice scurry across the room last night, fortunately she had Elijah. He'd decided today he would clean the warzone that is his sister's room purely out of love. Rebekah had wondered if Klaus would ever dare help his siblings in such a caring way. Spoiler. He probably wouldn't.
Amidst the woes of a gorgeous woman carrying his child, his future heir to enemies he'd forgotten about, he'd found himself changing. Klaus Mikaelson was changing. It was such a peculiar idea to fully grasp. It started at the end of Hayley's first trimester, he'd gifted her an odd, wood carving of a horse. Then he'd sat in his study, eyes of admiration staring at the werewolf in front of him, and opened up about his cruel childhood. It was such a loving moment, Hayley had thought Klaus may have been possessed. This wasn't him. Maybe now it was. This unborn child had gifted him with so much hope. Klaus' fascination with the youngest Dubois only tripled in the days following the incident. Elijah had rung him and told him of the power the duo seemed to create together. It intrigued Klaus so dearly. As if he was enveloped in that of Ocean Dubois. He decided it'd be his personal mission to get to the root of this.

"Who the fuck writes out messages like this?" Ocean exclaimed, confused and somewhat disgusted.
Elijah lacked intuition since the day he was turned however, something told him he knew who'd messaged the young woman next to him.
"May I?" he questioned, holding out a rather large hand.
Ocean huffed and reluctantly handed her phone to her friend.
Meet me at the compound in 1 hour was scribbled onto the screen.
"No seriously, why not type it out like a normal person" Ocean continued, still processing how. this unknown person even got her number in the first place.
Elijah was unsure how appropriate it would be to laugh right now. It would probably result in Ocean attempting to hit him with the nearest object available but this was too amusing. It was also conflicting in the sense that Klaus hadn't mentioned wanting to meet with Ocean at all, meaning it could be a set up. Elijah also noted the nights he'd find his younger brother suffering in thought, wondering why his child and Ocean reacted so powerfully. He was stressed. Ocean studied Elijah's face in a rough attempt to decipher his thought process. Currently Alisha was at the Compound cleaning Rebekah's room. She enjoyed deep cleans, it calmed her constant state of anxiety. Between the pair they'd decided it'd be best to go to the Compound in shifts rather than dump onto Ocean that they were out with her ex-girlfriend. Despite a month separating from the day of the break up, Alisha and Elijah tread lightly around the subject of them.
"Klaus" Elijah finally said.
"Klaus? Oh my god that was Klaus? I get he's like a million years old but he's been around through the evolution of technology. Oh my, he's like- he's like a seventy-five year old man with no friends and an ugly little dog that just-"
"Ocean, I understand" Elijah interrupted, enjoying the slander of his brother a tad too much.
"Should I meet him?" Ocean said, internally debating whether she should just decide for herself.
"May I come with you?" Elijah replied, knowing she'd go either way but wanting to join just in case.
Rather than a snarky reply, Ocean just nodded in response. Somewhat worried of how quickly her scenery could change when it came to being in the presence of Klaus. It's not like she was necessarily scared, merely just assuming the worst. The worst being a cruel joke of some sort that resulted in Rebekah and Ocean being stuffed in a closet together. Her stomach churned at the thought of being alone in a room with the man she'd hated so dearly, however some twisted part of her was grateful. Grateful he'd told Ocean the truth when Rebekah hid from it. Ocean wasn't one to place her fate within an ideal God, however she'd prayed to fall out of love with Rebekah for weeks on end now... and maybe it was finally happening. All thanks to Klaus.

Eery silence plagued the Compound that afternoon. A subtle breeze inviting some clarification of reality in the otherwise still house. Mass of curls bouncing as the girl took cautious steps. Creases being smoothed everywhere but the face. Stern expressions plastered on both Elijah and Ocean as they somewhat dawdled up the staricase.
"Freya" the oldest present brother shouted.
Footsteps echo as the tall woman enters the hallway, closly followed by a bright faced Rebekah Mikaelson. As the footsteps come to a halt the silence becomes truly defening. Time stops in such a painful way, almost physically harming the women who now stare at eachother longingly. Rebekah's hands immediately find eachother, twiddling hopelessly at the sight before her. Ocean bites the inside of her lip to the extent Elijah is practically inhaling her blood. Standing stupidly in a state of pure anxiety, they remain focused on the other's eyes. Strange to find such comfort inside the irises of another.
"Elijah, I'd say Klaus is waiting in his study" Freya spoke, breaking the prolonged silence.
The youngest sister's eyes darted between her siblings faces, snapping out of her prior trance.
"Waiting for what." Rebekah spoke lowly.
Ocean didn't know why she felt guilty, however she did. She lowered her gaze as Elijah began to speak.
"Ocean is meeting with Klaus, I'm going wit-"
"No." Rebekah replied, harshly cutting off Elijah. Anger brimmed her then grey eyes, now burning blue like the depths of the Pacific.
Betrayal. Betrayal in it finest and most heartwrenching form. Thoughts scattered through Rebekah's mind, all of which centred Ocean Dubois. Klaus never did anything that wouldn't directly benefit himself, everyone knew that. What exactly was he pursuing Ocean for? Rebekah had many farfetched ideas that she let her mind wander to, all hurting equally as bad. She knew it was some type of elaborate scheme, she also knew her involvement would result in a dagger and an uncomfy coffin. Rebekah would risk everything for Ocean.
Elijah ignored his sister, stepping past them as Ocean idly followed. She felt Rebekah's eyes burning into her as she passed, wishing for nothing but the comfort of the woman she desperately needed to forget.
"Ocean" Rebekah said softly, pain wavering through her anger.
The brunette looked back, frowning sadly and mouthing an "I'm sorry" as she continued behind Elijah.
Fighting wasn't worth it. Neither of them could bring themselves to argue. Rebekah couldn't attempt overpowering her brother, not while Ocean watched. She could never do that to her. Rebekah missed Ocean so dearly, however this feeling wasn't reciprocated. A Mikaelson and a Dubois always ended in tragedy, they both knew it all too well. Would they dare risk it all for love?
