Chey and I were in school, in advanced English. We were talking about our likes, dislikes, family, crushes. Anything. We got along so well, but we were complete opposites. They say opposites attract, right? We were just sitting in our desks, babbling about anything, really.
"So do you know Bo?" I asked.
"Bo who?" she replied.
"Bo Newman."
"Ohhhh! Yeah! He is in my history class!" she replied. "He's a cutie." She smiled and me and lifted one eyebrow.
"Hey now, don't be so suspicious" I jokingly said and smiled. It's so weird how she knows me. She knows me so well, but we met just yesterday. I think I knew who she liked too. Marcus. He was in our advanced English class too. He was always the one that everyone thought was dumb, but in reality, he was super smart. He would be a slack in class, sadly. He was a bit taller than the rest of the guys. He was different, and that's what made Chey like him. Suddenly his arm holding up his head slips out from under him. He lands on his desk face first and then raises up faster than lightning. He smiles and pulls it off like nothing happened. I think the only people that saw it was Chey and I, though. We sneaked a small giggle under our breaths and looked at him. He never saw us, which made that good. I looked up at the board, which had an assignment on it. I rolled my eyes and plopped out my binder and book. I reached in my bag for my pencil.
Open up your books to page 315. Read the adjectives and jot down a short story. Due at the end of class.
Ugh. I don't want to do this. I love advanced english, but sometimes I dread it. I pick up my pencil and get to work. Time by time, I watch Chey. She always turns her head in the direction of Marcus. Every time she looks over there, she smiles. He makes her day.
