Chey and I walk down the street leading down to our houses. Gale street, where almost everyone lived. In our neighborhood, you can't look out the window and not see a kid, unless there is a tornado. Everyday after school, all the kids in the neighborhood get together and hangout. Including me and Chey. We had our own little hideaway spot. An old white church with fore grounds. Every time we would go there, it's serious. It has a little table and chairs, a cute wooden bridge, a forested part with even more explorations, a silent beautiful creek swarming with little croppies and crawfish, and the center of it all, across the creek, is the church. As we walk past our secret hide out, we spot this girl at her house that looks interesting. Long, wavy, brown hair that reaches almost the end of her back. She turns around and looks at us with her hazel eyes. She gives us a light smile and lifts her hand to wave. Chey and I both lift our hands and wave back to her. She gets up off of her porch and introduces herself.
"Hi I'm Marie!" She says.
"Oh hey, I'm Chey" Chey replied to her.
"And I'm May! Nice to meet you, Marie!" I said with a smile.
She smiled back.
"What grade are you girls in?" Marie asked questioningly.
"9th grade" Chey and I reply in unison. We look at each other and smile.
"Oh! I'm in 8th. But I'm 14." Marie says.
"It was a pleasure meeting you, but I'm afraid May and I have some homework to do now!" Chey said politely. I stood and nodded, agreeing with Chey. Chey and I waved at Marie, showing a signification of leaving. We walk home and begin our homework.
