Revenge

Perspective: (y/n)

As I make my way out of the pit lane, I see Schumacher's lights in front of me.
"Mode push. Mode push."
I accelerate as I come out of the pit. I'm right at Schumacher's back. Since I have fresher tyres I have an advantage. Going into turn 2 we are already side by side once again. I get my foot on the gas earlier than him and get past him. I have the inside line into turn 3, so I force him the long way around. He doesn't manage to fight back and as we reach turn 4 I'm comfortably ahead of him.

Lap: 28

"Car ahead is Bottas."
"Gap?"
"One second."
I take the next few turns, while I close in on Bottas.
"Gap .8"
As he comes out of turn 25 I am right behind him. I manage to drive past him until we reach the next corner.
"He was going pretty slow. Is something wrong?"
"A few cars are already retired. Alonso and Ricciardo. They both had engine problems."
I hope I will make it to the finish line without an engine failure.

Lap: 40

"There are yellows in turn one and two. Yellows in one and two."
"Understood."
I slow down a bit as I approach turn one.
"Alex is out of the race. That means you are the only Williams."
As I go into turn four I see the rear lights from the car in front of me.
"Stroll ahead. Gap 1 second."
"His pace?"
"1:29. Yours is 1:28."
"Copy."
As I get out of turn 13 I'm right behind Stroll. I try to go around the inside of turn 14 but he cuts me off and I have to stay behind. I try to overtake him in the next three turns but I don't manage to do it.
"If you want to overtake Hulkenburg you need to get past Stroll in this lap."
I bite my lip in frustration.
Throughout turns 17 and 18 he manages to defend as well. As we get on the straight I finally manage to close the gap further. Now we are side by side. I get my elbows out and make him give up some space. Going into turn 22 I'm barely ahead. I have the inside line for the next two turns and manage to slowly pull ahead. As we go into turn 24 I'm finally in front of him. During the next turns I hold him off until I'm far enough ahead.
"P14. P14. There are ten more laps to go."
I put my foot onto the throttle when I accelerate out of the corner.

Lap 41:

"Hulkenburg is 1.9 seconds ahead."
I can still do this. When I go through turn 13 I finally catch a glimpse of his rear lights.
"Gap is 1.7 seconds. You are half a second faster than him. Keep up the pace."
The next few turns I only see his lights until we start lap 42.
"Gap?"
"1 second."
I keep on following him for the next couple of corners. I try to get into his slipstream, but  Hulkenburg always manages to brake it off.

Perspective: Gahyeon

I watch as (y/n) keeps on trying to get past the car in front of him. Wasn't that the guy who pushed him off at the start?
As I look to my right, I see that the other girls seem to recognize the greenish car as well. (Y/n) gets closer and closer until they are almost side by side. I look at the top left corner. It's already the 45th lap. If he wants to overtake him he has to do it as soon as possible.
As the both of them come out of turn 12 they are wheel to wheel. They drive unbelievably fast on the straight. Going into turn 13 it looks like (y/n) is getting closer an closer to the wall while the other driver gets closer to him as well. Suddenly sparks are flying from (y/n)'s car. I hear Yoohyeon gasping in shock. The two cars move back towards the middle of the track but there are still sparks flying from underneath his wing.
"Fuck!"
I hear (y/n) curse over the radio.
Why does the other driver keep trying to make him crash? This is really dangerous.
"Is the front wing okay?"
I hear (y/n)'s voice again.
"If you don't box your pace will get worse."
"If I do pit I might not get near him again."
"Alright. Stay out and try your best."
The radio ends when I see his car coming out of another turn. Golden sparks are descending from his front wing. They are flying everywhere. As the video cuts to the camera in the cockpit we see almost nothing else except those sparks. How can he keep driving like that?
I keep my fingers crossed as the video shows other cars.

Lap 47:

"And it seems like (y/n) Lee is going slower than before! Will he be able to overtake Hulkenburg in the last few laps?"
I hear Bora unnie biting her nails next to me when we here the commentator.
The video shows (y/n)'s car once again. You can only see half of the front because of the sparks.
"Your pace is two tenths slower than before."
"Gap?"
His voice sounds calm.
".5 seconds. You are still faster than him."
"Come on. Come on. Come on."
I start to whisper as I look at my brother in his car.
"Please."
As they go into the last turn of this lap, they are almost side by side. (Y/n)'s front tyres almost touch the other car's rear tyres. Because he is on the outside he doesn't manage to get past his rival, but he keeps coming closer and closer.
When they come out of the curve (y/n) is barely behind him. The camera switches position once again and now we look through the perspective of his front wing. Luckily it's the left side. Otherwise we wouldn't manage to see anything. But now the car ahead looks so close I could almost touch it.
"Lee gets into Hulkenburg's slipstream!"
I hear myself whispering again.
"Come on."
"Now he pulls out! That was close! How did he not make contact with the Aston Martin in front?"
There are now going side by side into turn one."
"Come on."
I hear Bora unnie following my example.

Perspective: (y/n)

"Two laps to go."
I'm still right next to Hulkenburg. I try to push him wide going into the next turn. That way he can't put me in the wall. Unfortunately he gets better traction out of the corner and is slightly ahead once again.
During our fight I try to be on his right side. That way he won't be hit by the sparks. Although he caused them I don't want him to crash into me or the wall. This makes it even more difficult to get past him.
"Verstappen just crossed the line. You have half a lap."
I start sweating even more than before.
"This is your last chance."
I go into turn 23. The third sector of the lap.
When I come out I am right next to the green car once again.
"This is it. Drain the battery. Drain the battery."
Going into turn 24 I'm ahead by a millimeter. When I accelerate,  the battery gives me extra power to blast past Hulkenburg. Now I'm ahead by half a car. As we go through the big curve at turns 25 and 26 I realize there is only one corner left.
I give it everything to go first into the last turn.

Perspective: Gahyeon

"Will Hulkenburg lose his position in the last corner of this race?"
I can't believe (y/n) manages to pull this off.
"Going into turn 27 Lee is half a car ahead!"
The video switches into high-angle shot and we see the two cars slowly going around the corner.
"As they come out, Lee is a whole car ahead!"
I jump up from the couch and my members start cheering with me.
"There is only the straight left, but Lee has gotten ahead of Hulkenburg! He is now up into 13th place as he sees the checkered flag!"
A second later we see him going past the flag.
"And now he is over the line! (Y/n) Lee got his revenge right at the end of this race!"

Hey, everyone! Sorry it took a while but I had a lot of work to do. I hope you enjoy the chapter.
I also wanted to let you know that the story won't be a hundred percent accurate all the time. If ( like the last two chapters) the race I'm writing about already happened, I will try to make it as close to reality as possible. I won't change anything that I wrote before that though. For example Schumacher crashed in qualifying and didn't race on Sunday. I didn't want to mess with the last chapter so I didn't make changes and just made him participate in this chapter as well. I tried to make it as real as possible with Ricciardo's and Alonso's problems.
