Perspective: Yunjin

"Alright everyone! That's it for now. We will have a thirty minute break and then we will keep going with the group photos."
The staff pack their things and start to leave the track.
"Can we take a few more pictures on our own?"
"That's a good idea."
I agree with Sakura but one of the cameramen denies.
"Someone else booked the track for the whole day actually. But because of the company we were able to arrange this photoshoot. They told us, they will start their practice while we are on our break."
"Fine."
Kazuha escapes a disappointed sigh.

Walking into the pit lane, we see two men coming out of a building near the circuit. Both of them head towards one of the garages, so they get closer to us. One of them is wearing casual clothes while the other is in a racing suit. When I put my hand above my eyes because of the sun I see parts of the guy's face who seems to be a ricing driver.
In that moment Kazuha nudges me with her elbow.
"That's the guy from earlier!"
"Who?"
Chaewon unnie asks.
"The guy in the racing suit! We met him in the grocery store this morning."
I correct Kazuha.
"The both off us literally bumped into him. We didn't just meet him."
"And he is a race car driver?"
I just shrug my shoulders.
The two men are still walking in our direction because they came from the opposite site of the pit lane. Right before their garage they come to a halt. A woman gives the man we met earlier a black helmet. As he puts it on, we can see some of its details. The glass before his eyes is tinted in purple. His left side is decorated with a big golden thirteen. When he looks after the other man, who walks towards the other side of the pit lane where the monitors stand, I see a golden lion on the other side. Ready to jump.
"His helmet looks so cool."
I nod at Garam's comment.
When he turns around to go into the garage, we can clearly see the blue and white "Oreo" sign on the back of his helmet.
"He must really be a professional if he even has promotions from brands on his helmet."
The crew follows us as we keep walking. Then another man comes out of the garage. We hear a motor starting.
"That's loud!"
Eunchae covers her ears and has to scream so we can hear her.
The man in front of the garage motions us to wait. Then he looks inside and walks back while beckoning with his hands in his direction.
A similar car to the one we posed with a few minutes ago rushes out of the garage. It makes a right turn and drives in our direction. Because we are standing right at the wall we don't get hit.
The car is painted in grey and white camouflage.
One of the cameramen behind us gasps as he sees the golden lion on the drivers helmet. He talks to a man behind him.
"That can't be Lee (y/n)! Right?"
"Who is that?"
Garam turns towards him.
"He is a formula One race car driver."
Maybe that's why he didn't want to get recognized in the store.
"But didn't he just leave his team?"
Another man asks.
"Yes. But why is he here then?"
Chaewon chuckles.
"I didn't know you all were so interested in race cars."
A woman behind us answered.
"We aren't, but he is a big deal."
"Why?"
Now I'm curious too.
"Because he is the first and only Korean driver in the f1."
"He is Korean?"
Kazuha looks at me.
"Why did we speak in English then?"
I close my eyes in embarrassment.
"Well, he didn't look Korean."
"You said earlier that he left his team. Does that mean he isn't in this formula thing anymore?"
Garam really seems to be interested.
"It is still possible that another team signed a contract with him. Teams need a back up driver if one of theirs is unable to race."
The man who recognized the driver speaks up again.
"But if he is here practicing, he might not just be a back up driver but have an actual seat."
As we enter the building with the break room, I hear the roaring of the car's engine as it passes by.

Once our break is over we walk through the pit lane again. We can still hear the car, but right now it is more quiet because it's further away.
"Let's take a picture over there at the fence."
The six of us run towards a fence that's on top of the wall of the pit lane. The man we saw earlier and a few others sit behind monitors. They seem to check the cars performance.
As we walk by we can hear the man talk to the driver.
"That was a purple sector (y/n). Keep pushing."
I don't really understand what he means but I'm not that interested anyways.
While we take pictures a woman from our staff talks with the man who just spoke.
"Our break is over. We would like to pick up where we left of."
"I'm sorry I don't speak Korean."
He says in English. I walk up and translate what she said.
"I understand. We will drive one more lap. That's about one minute."
I nod and walk towards my members who are getting their make up fixed.

A few minutes into the photoshoot the driver and the other man come out of the pit lane. (Y/n) was his name? He is holding his helmet in his hand now. His hear is sweaty and he keeps drinking from his bottle. The other guy holds a clipboard and seems to explain something to him.
Garam stands next to me and looks at one of the cameramen.
"You said he is famous?"
He nods and before anyone can react she is already running towards the two men who are standing a couple of meters away. I can't hear what their saying, but Garam starts to laugh. She points in our direction and says something again. After the driver nods, she takes out her phone and takes a selfie with him. Then he takes a paper and a pen from the clipboard and writes something on it.
Everything looks normal until he suddenly gives her his helmet.
For a second she looks as confused as I feel, but after he says something she seems to understand and takes the gift. It looks like he signs it.

The two men walk away while Garam walks towards us. As she arrives she proudly holds up the helmet.
"(Y/n) gifted it to me. He said he already has a new one for next week."
"So he is still in an active seat?"
"Yes."
She rips the sheet in smaller pieces and gives them around. I can see his signature on them except for one.
"He also said that we aren't allowed to tell anyone that we met him here until the next weekend is over. I think it's because of the media."
Everyone looks happy as they study the signature of a Korean race car driver.
Without me realizing it, Garam stands right next to me. She holds out her hand and gives me the last piece.
"I got it for you. I think the two of you could hit it of."
At first I don't get what she means until I see his number written on the paper.
