Paisley's POV
I slowly open my eyes and and blinked few times to get them to adjusted to the sun shining through my window at my face. I sit up and did a little stretch.
I took my phone out of the charger and grab it off the nightstand. I look at the screen for the time and the time is 8:53 a.m.
For some reason I'm craving Starbucks right now.
I place my phone down back where it was at and remove the comforter off my body. I got out of my bed yawning as I walk to the bathroom.
I brushed my teeth and did my hygiene and came back into my room with a towel wrapped around my body and my hair tied into a bun.
I went over to my dresser and pull the first drawer where it's full of my panties and bra. I grab a pair of matching white panty and bra and grab my lotion before heading to my bed. I lotion my body before putting on my undergarments and went back to my dresser and grab a pair of basketball shorts and a plain black shirt and a hoodie and throw them on.
I put on some old white Nikes and grab my phone and shove it in my hoodie pocket. Then grab my glasses and put them on. I look into the mirror deciding whether or not I should do something with my hair and decided to leave it the way it is.
I left my room and hear distant noises from downstairs. I walk down there and see Everest watching some Kids Next Door on TV while eating some cereal and Chantal talking on the phone. The look of her face looked like she's pissed.
"Hey Auntie!" Everest says, waving at me excitedly.
I smiled at her and went over to her. "Hey Everest." I gave her a hug and kiss her on the cheek. "How's my favorite niece doing?" I asked as I poke her side.
That cause Everest to giggle. "I'm doing good and I'm your only niece, silly."
"Oh I know and no one will be able to replace you,'' I said, poking her nose causing her to laugh. ''Anyways, I'm gonna catch you later. You be good to your mommy, okay?'' I smile at her. She nodded her hand letting her curls bounce. ''I will!'' She smiles brightly showing her two missing teeth.
''Alright, I'll let you get back to watching your show.'' I stood up and went over to Chantal.
"I don't care if you come over and take her, Kingston. I'm fine with that but what I do mind is you letting my daughter around that nasty hoe of yours," she says.
I'm guessing she's arguing with her baby daddy.
"Psst!" I whisper to get her attention. She turned to me and mouthed, 'What?'.
"Can I borrow your car?" I whisper ask.
She waved her hand away meaning that she let me use her car and went back to arguing with Kingston. I cracked a smile and spotted her car keys on the kitchen counter and grabbed it.
''Bye y'all!'' I said out loud as I made my way to the front door. ''Bye Auntie!'' I heard Everest said. ''Bring my car back before 12. I got somewhere to be!'' Chantal says as I opened the door. I put up peace signs at them before leaving.
I shut the door behind me and left the porch and made my way over to my sister's car and use the key to unlock the door before entering. I put the key into the ignition and turn it and started the engine. I backed out of the driveway not after watching both ways for kids running behind the car.
Yes, in this neighborhood, there are kids out here playing early in the morning.
When I got to Starbucks, I patiently waited in a long line until the worker calls next. I ordered my what I wanted and turned around to go wait until the order is ready until I accidently bump into someone.
''Oh my god! I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there.'' I apologized.
She shook her head. ''No, you don't have to apologized. It's my fault, I should've watch where I was going,'' she says moving a piece of her red hair behind her ear.
''No, it's fine,'' I said.
She nodded. ''Good. The last thing I wanted is to anger someone on my first day here,'' she says. ''Oh, you new to this city?'' I asked.
''Well. . .sorta. I moved away few years ago. I'm here to visit my grandmother,'' she says. I nodded. ''Oh well, welcome back.'' I smile politely at her.
When I went to go past her, she spoke up. ''I'm Alison.'' She introduced herself.
''Oh uh. . .'' I paused. I don't want to tell her my name since she is a stranger but it'll be rude because she told me hers. I guess it wouldn't hurt. ''Paisley. My name is Paisley,'' I said.
''Well, nice to meet you Paisley.'' Alison held out her hand for me to shake. ''Nice to meet you too,'' I said, shaking her hand. We pulled our hands away and I took in her appearance.
She has ruby red hair down to her shoulder, smooth ivory skin, green eyes, a nice slime figure, and tattoos that covers both her arms and neck and possibly more underneath the clothing, and she's tall too. Probably 5'8.
But I'm not gonna lie, she is a attractive girl.
''You're staring.'' Her voice broke me out of my thoughts. I see her looking at me with a smirk across her red lips. I blushed in embarrassment. ''S-sorry.'' I stuttered pushing my glasses back with my index finger. Luckily, my skin is dark enough so she wouldn't see me blushing.
She chuckled. ''You're cute,'' she says. I blush even more at her compliment. This is the first time a girl complimented me. Usually, they insult me because of my appearance. ''T-Thank you.''
''Anyone by the name Paisley, your drink is ready!'' One of the workers shouted.
''We should continue this talk after you get your drink,'' She said.
''Yeah, I'll be right back,'' I said. I turn to go to the counter to where my food is waiting for me. ''It will be $10.57,'' the cashier said.
I reach into my pocket and couldn't find my wallet. I check all my pockets and felt nothing but my phone.
Then it hit me.
I left my fucking wallet at home. How stupid of me?
''Oh, I uh left my wallet-''
''Take my card.'' Alison slide her card towards the cashier and he took it from her.
''You don't have to do that,'' I said. ''But I want to,'' she says smiling at me. I shyly smile back at her.
Alright, here's your card,'' the cashier says handing Alison her card back along the receipt.
''You two enjoy your morning,'' he says with a polite smile.
''You too,'' I said.
Then we both left the counter.
''Thank you for paying for me. It's very nice of you.'' I thanked her.
''If you really want to thank me. Let's hang out and talk,'' Alison said.
It would be nice to make a new friend. I've been really lonely since I don't hang out with Kylie anymore.
I nodded. ''Sure. We can hang out.''
Then she smiled, flashing her perfectly white teeth.
I shyly smiled back at her.
I hope she isn't anything like Kylie. I'm tired of all the backstabbing.
