JASON'S POV
The last bell rang for the day, and I started packing up my stuff. Classes have been kicking my ass especially with the exams coming up. I'm not worried about failing them, I mean, I am one of the smartest kids in school. So passing the exams gonna be a piece of cake.
I slung my bag over my shoulder and glanced over at Paisley, who's still packing up her things. Most people had already left, just me, Paisley, and a couple of students lingering around the teacher's desk laughing.
I walked over to her. "Are you ready?"
"Yeah." She zips up her bag. "Come on, I want to take you somewhere." I took her soft hands into mine and led her out of the classroom.
We made it outside on the school's parking lot and were walking to my car when someone called my name.
"Jason?" An unfamiliar called to me.
I turned around and saw a man dressed in black leaning against his car. He had shades on, but I can tell he is looking straight at me.
Who is this man, and what died he want?
He started walking towards Paisley and I and stood in front of us.
"Can I help you?" I questioned as he took off his shades.
"Yes. I would like to speak with you." He spoke in a firm tone.
"For what? Who are you?" I pressed on.
"I'm Detective Bond. I'm assigned to a case regarding your missing friend. Landon?" He said simply.
Oh.
I glance over at Paisley, who had a concern expression on her face. "Paisley, can you go wait in the car for me? I'll be there in a minute." I handed her my car keys.
"You sure?" Uncertainty flashed in her eyes. I smiled. "Yeah, it won't take long." I assured her by kissing her on her soft cheeks.
"Okay." She whispered softly. Then I watched her leave to the car.
"She seems like a lovely girl, isn't she?" Detective Bond spoke up.
I look over at him to see his eyes following Paisley.
Fuck he looking at her for?
I refrained from balled up my fist on anger and forced a smile. "She is. Is there anything you want to talk to me about Detective?" I asked, impatiently.
He then turned to me and smiled. "Yes, where were you doing on the night Landon disappeared? I heard you hosted a party on the night he mysteriously disappeared. " He questions, eyeing me closely.
I shrugged nonchalantly. "I had a party where he was present. I did speak with him a bit before spending the night with my girlfriend. That's the last time I saw him." I answered calmly, trying not to seem suspicious.
"Is that so?" He looked at me amused.
I nodded. "Yes."
He scoffed. "You know, Jason. I've heard some things about you. Very interesting things." He spoke on a serious tone.
"Oh?" I pretended to be clueless. I know he knows something about me. "Well, I hope whatever you heard about me are good."
"I don't think so but I'll cut to the chase. Your whole innocent and charming act doesn't fool me, Jason. I know what you're capable of and I know that you have something to do with Landon's disappearance." He said harshly. His eyes burned holes into my head.
My smile grew wider. "I don't know what you're talking about Detective. Like I said before I don't know where Landon is." I stated.
He scoffed once more. "Do you think I'm stupid? I know you, Jason and I refused to let another person get hurt because of you."
