Valentina White POV
"Done!" I say to myself as I close my laptop, keeping it on the table.
It has been a fairly productive day for me...though I can't say the same for Jones.
I have seen her on that couch on my right looking bored out of her mind for the whole day but she surely didn't complain.
But then again it IS HER job!
"What do you want to eat for dinner?" I ask making her jump up as she was engrossed in whatever she was doing on her phone.
"Huh? What?" She asks.
I rolled my eyes.
"What do you want for dinner?" I repeat.
"Anything is fine." She answers.
"Anything is not a dish."
"Mexican?"
"Sure!" I say as I get up and head towards the kitchen.
She makes herself comfortable on the barstool on the other side of the counter.
"I will give you company." I just nod in response and get to work.
Something is surely wrong!
The woman has been a little too quiet for being River Jones.
And I can sense she wants to say something.
"What!?"
"Huh?"
"Just say whatever it is on your mind!" I say with a glare.
"Whydidyoukissmeatthegala?" She blurted out with the speed of light.
It was my turn.
"Huh?"
She took a deep breath and looked at me.
"Why did you kiss me at the gala?"
"You were rambling." I said simply.
"So?"
"It shut you up didn't it?" I said with a smirk.
"Then what about in your office?"
My face hardens.
"It was a mistake that I regret and will not happen again!" I say coldly not looking toward her.
"Say it looking at me in the eyes."
"I don't need to do that. I already said what was needed to be said." I said sternly.
I turned around, to put the tacos in the oven.
When I turned back around I collided with a chest.
"Whatever the hell are you doing!?" I shouted as she wrapped her left around me, pinning both my hands to my sides.
Why the hell is she so strong!?
She forced me to look into her eyes with a strong grip on my chin.
"Did you regret it?" She asked softly.
I didn't answer. I shouldn't!
"Was the kiss a mistake?" She asked again softly.
I couldn't stop myself nor could I look away.
"No."
She smiled softly.
"So, what's the problem?" She released my chin but kept me close.
I relaxed in her embrace.
"What problem?"
"What's the problem in me asking you out for a date?"
I tensed.
"Many. You shouldn't." I said looking away.
She huffed and again forced me to look at her.
"What is the problem, Miss. White?" She asked.
"You are my bodyguard."
"There was no rule that I can't date my boss."
"It won't end well."
"I like to live in the present and not worry about the end."
"I have two metal pieces attached to my body."
"Lucky for you I always loved terminators and robots. I always found them cool, particularly female terminators they very hot." She said with a wink making me laugh.
"If today's Sunday was any example, I am not that fun."
She hummed. "Dating you is worth having boring Sundays."
"I don't deserve you."
"Let me be the judge of that. Anything else?" She said as she kissed my forehead.
"You are hurting my chin!" I say with a smile.
She laughed as she let go of my chin.
"So, can I take you out for a date Miss White?"
I am scared but I want to take this chance.
"Yes."
She smiles widely.
"I promise to make it the most memorable date." She says as she finally releases me.
*BEEP!*
"Tacos are ready!"
"I take it you go take the plates." She says as she opens the oven.
"Sure."
I have a good feeling about this date.
About her.
For her.
