The teal Volkswagon seems to have a fucking rainbow painted on it. A rainbow. And clouds. I honestly don't know how Lily gets away with it. There's retro stickers on the window. Think the swirly 'Here comes the sun' design you see on pinterest, but as a vehicle. This is it.
Then Lily comes out. Screaming. She has her hair in box braids, tied back with a bandana. A pair of sunglasses are perched on the top of her head. Her fawn skin is sprinkled with freckles, like it always is. She's wearing a short, white dress that is flowy and has lace at the hems. An old belt is around her waist, and her neck is adorned with dozens of necklaces. Her wrist has three or four bracelets on. Her eyes are covered in piercings, and now she has a septum piercing. That's new and very...Lily.
She runs, screaming, towards me, encasing me in a tight hug. I can't help but laugh."FAE! Oh my gosh, look at how much you've grown! And your hair! You must let me dye it!"
Aggie climbs wearily out of the drivers seat.
"Get off her Lil!" She says, rolling her eyes. Lily takes a step back and looks at me in closer detail.I don't know what she's looking at. I'm only wearing a brown vest top, with some wide leg cream shorts and a plaid jacket. Lily's right, my blonde hair is longer now, past my shoulders. My ears only have one piercing, and I am only wearing one necklace too. However we are both wearing Doc Martins, even though mine are black and Lily's are white. I guess that's one thing we have in common.
"Hiya love. I've missed you." Aggie comes over and hugs me. Her hugs are much better than Lily's.
"Hi Aggie. I've missed you. That school is so boring." Aggie laughs at that.
"Well love you better start telling us all about it." Lily takes my cases and I get into the backseat of the van. The van is technically a caravan, but we don't use it for anything but holidays now."Well?" Aggie looks back from the driver seat.
"What? Oh. School. Yep. School is... super boring. Not much else to say to be honest." Lily gets into the van.
"Are you actually serious? You've been there for nearly three months? Yeah. Three months. And you have nothing to say? How's Eddie? And how are the boys? Are they fit?"
"Lil!" Aggie slaps Lily's arm.
"I do love how you don't count Eddie as a boy."
"Well he's your friend isn't he? Oh my god Fae! Do you like your bestie?"
"No!"
"It's okay Fae. The first step of acceptance is always denial."
"Isn't that the seven stages of grief? Anyway we're going. Does anybody want anything before we set off?"
"Nope!" Me and Lily both answer.
"So I'm curious Fae. When did you first start liking Eddie?"
"Oh my god STOP!"
