Fever Dream Green (Discontinued)

I fall asleep on a rickety bed that Lily had probably got from one of her friends, after thinking about things. Like Sunny. And this place I'd been thrown into.

I wake up, get ready and have my breakfast: some stale cornflakes. I realise I haven't been to the beach yet, even though it's right on my doorstep. So I tell Lily and Aggie I'm going out.
"Be careful." Aggie warns, although I'm not sure what can happen to me at a beach. The area is too open and crowded for anyone to attempt to hurt me. I'm not even planning on going into the sea.

I walk quickly down the apartment staircases, so by the time I'm down there I'm breathless.

I walk down to the beach. It's mildly crowdy, with children building sandcastles, dogs running about, and couples walking along the boundary between the beach and the waves, their bare feet gently soaking in saltwater.

I slip my sandles off, and wander down to the edge. I let the water lick my feet, and the wind breathe into me. I walk along the water, peaceful and calm.

That is, until a bigger wave comes and soaks my jeans. I don't know why I'm wearing jeans. Behind me I hear a cackle. I spin around and I see Sunny.

She's managed to tie her hair back, and her slim, pink sunglasses are reflecting the light all around her. She's glowing. She's wearing a yellow mini-skirt, and a graphic tee. She's barefoot too, and is holding sandals.

"You okay there?" Sunny raises an eyebrow.
"Not really." I giggle. Sunny giggles back.
"Why are you wearing jeans?"
"I don't know."
Sunny shrugs."I guess you aren't used to the beach are you?"
"I guess not."

"You're Lily's sister aren't you?"
"The one and only."
"Jeez. I can't imagine having her as a sister. Doug and Trevor are bad enough."
"Doug seems nice enough."
"So does Lily."
"Where are you going anyway?"
"The pier. Nothing is going on at home since Trevor's has his head in a computer and probably will do all day. And plus, I haven't seen Finny and Inez."
"Who are they?"
"You'll see."
