"Honey I'm home! " Lydia shouted into her apartment, smiling as she heard nails scratch against the hard floor onto the carpet. Her dog, Bear, jumped up at her, almost knocking the bags of food out of her hands.

"Hi Bear!!" she greeted happily, closing the door and walking into the kitchen as he followed. She placed the bags down and began removing items, placing some aside and petting her cat, Magic, who came to greet her as well. Magic was two, Bear only being one. They happened to get along very well, bringing a ton of comfort into Lydias life, being alone sucked. She wasnt totally alone but still. Lydia actually got the idea of getting the pets from Sarah, Sam's sister. Over the course of five years the girls grew even closer, Lydia was always close with the family but now to be able to have Sarah at her side and her sons, there wasn't a better feeling.

She put away the things she had bought, feeding both her animals before binding them a goodbye and heading to the Avengers Tower, with a bag of items for dinner for herself and the others there.
-------------------------------------------------------

Lydia entered the tower, overhearing Rhodey talking to Natasha about Clint. She figured she'd wait, walking in as Natasha took a shaky breath.

"Hey Nat" She greeted softly, approaching the woman and wrapping her arms around her. Giving some comfort.

"You know, I'd offer to cook some dinner but you seem pretty miserable already" Steve said, announcing his presence.

"You here to do your laundry?" Nat asked Steve before looking at Lydia, "And you..?"

"And to see a friend" Steve answered before they both looked at Lydia.

"I come with food and Im looking for something I think I left in my room" Lydia said, a bittersweet smile on her face.

"Well clearly, your friend is fine" Natasha sighed, "You know, if you're about to tell me to look on the bright side, um, I'm about to hit you in the head with a PB&J"

"I second that" Lydia added in

"Lydia, how's Bear and Magic been?" Steve asked as he sat down

"Oh lovely, yesterday I showed them a photo album of their, they know basically his entire life... I can't wait till they meet" Lydia said happily, whispering the last part but the others still heard it

Was Lydia going insane? Some might say. But she had a lot of hope she'd get back everyone who dusted, importantly Sam. And in times like this, everyone had to have a little hope...right?

"You know I keep telling everyone they should move on, grow. Some do. But not us" Steve smiled

"If I move on, who does this?" Natasha asked

"Maybe it doesn't need to be done" Steve replied

"I used to have nothing. And then I got this. This job. This family. And I was better because of it" Nat smiled sadly, looking at Lydia, "And even though they're gone, I'm still trying to be better. "

"I think we all need to get a life" Steve said

"You first" Lydia joked

"Is anybody home?! It's Scott Lang! We met a few years ago at the airport! In Germany I was the guy that got really big, I had a mask on you wouldn't recognize me!"

"Is this an old message?" Steve asked as Lydia stood up

"It's the front gate" Natasha answered

"Holy shit-" Lydia whispered

Little fun fact, the pets in this chapter are based off of pets i've had growing up!! When I was younger I had a grey cat named Magic and a dog named Bear both of who I loved and adored
