"Am I seeing thingsor..?" Lydia trailed off, looking at Steve and the others before seeing Sam swoop in. He immediately came to her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into him.
"Oh my God oh my God Sam" Lydia smiled, placing her hands on his face as her heart swelled, one of the biggest smiles on her face in five years, tears flowing from her eyes.
"My love, i'm here it's okay" Sam soothed, smiling at her before the two shared a gentle kiss. She knew they were standing on a battlefield and needed to focus but she simply didn't care in those few seconds. Her birdy was back, that's all that mattered to her in that moment.
They pulled back, watching as everyone who was dusted, came about from the portals that grew. Joy filling her more as she realized they had a team again.
"Is that everyone?" Stephen asked Wong
"What? You wanted more?" Wong questioned
"Avengers..." Steve yelled, "Assemble" and with that, they were off. Charging toward the enemy. ————————————————————————
Lydia stuck to the ground, running about and attacking anything she could. She managed to find some good attacks, easily finding weak spots. Everyone was fully in, working together. Sam came down at one point, picking her up and flying her toward a larger group, the two working to knock them down.
Sam himself flew forward, tackling Thanos as Clint had the stones and ran. They needed a plan, and Scott suddenly remembered they had another time machine.
"Anyone see an ugly brown van out there?" Steve asked
"Yes!" Valkyrie answered, "But you're not gonna like where it's parked"
"Scott, how long you need to get that thing working?" Tony asked
"Uh, maybe ten minutes" He answered
"Get it started Scott!" Lydia pushed
"Yeah, we'll get the stones to you" Steve added on
"We're on it Cap" Hope replied ————————————————————————
Wanda landed as Thanos came up to T'Challa. "You took, everything from me"
"I don't even know who you are" Thanos spoke
"You will" Wanda said, using all her powers to attack him, not letting up once. She was furious, and determined.
The stones got passed to Peter, who ran ahead in the fight to avoid the enemies. More and more hellfire rained down, everyone working the best they could to maintain the situation.
"What the hell is this?" Sam questioned
"FRIDAY what are they firing at?" Tony asked
"Something just entered the upper atmosphere " FRIDAY rushed out
Coming down, was none other than Captain Marvel. Making Rocket cheer as he watched with Groot.
"Danvers, we need an assist here" Steve said
"Hi, I'm Peter Parker" Peter said, hugging the stones to him as Carol landed.
"Hey Peter Parker" Carol smiled, "You got something for me?"
"I, I don't know how you're gonna get through all of that" He said slowly
Behind Carol, all the other ladies on the field joined her, standing strong and tall. Lydia smiled slightly at Peter as the rest of them came, nodding to the younger boy. They all rushed forward, once again continuing the battle.
Thanos, eventually, got the stones back in his hands. Tony and Strange shared a look, before Tony rushed forward to Thanos.
"I am, inevitable" Thanos declared
Lydia's face fell as she watched him snap, but when nothing happened, everyone looked at Tony... who had the stones.
"And I, am, Iron Man" and with that, he snapped his fingers. ————————————————————————
Everyone slowly approached Tony, giving some room as Rhodey, Pepper and Peter went by him.
"Mr.Stark?" Peter said sadly, rushing over to him.
Lydia's heart stopped hearing Peter cry, watching as Pepper helped him stand. Tears falling down her faces and others as they watched the exchange between Pepper and Tony.
"You can rest now" Pepper smiled sadly,
"Thanks for everything Tony" Lydia whispered ————————————————————————
