Chapter 35

Naruto and Jiraiya are walking into a new town. In Naruto's hand is a regular balloon. It soon pops. "Dammit!" Naruto screams. "You will get there. No need to rush," Jiraiya says to his impatient student. "It is just frustrating not to get it right," Naruto moans. "Tell me about it... You are still a lot faster than me," Jiraiya says happily. "She should be around here somewhere," Jiraiya says as he looks around the gambling houses. "Let's check inside if they have seen Tsunade around," Jiraiya says as he points toward one of the houses. "Why are we checking these houses?" Naruto says as he catches up to Jiraiya. "Haven't you heard..." Jiraiya says as he opens the door. "She is called the legendary sucker," Jiraiya says as he walks into the house. "Are we sure we want her as our Hokage?" Naruto asks as he sighs. Jiraiya just laughs at the expression on Naruto's face.

The dealer had seen her. She had gone through these houses a few days ago. She lost a lot of money, then dipped. However, he had not seen or heard where she was heading. Naruto and Jiraiya are standing outside the house, thinking of the next move. "I say we go to Tanzaku-gai," Jiraiya says after contemplating after a few minutes. "Why?" Naruto asks exhaustedly. "Feel like visiting the historical ground," Jiraiya says seriously. "Fine! whatever! Have you fun!" Naruto says as he storms off. "Teenagers..." Jiraiya sighs in exasperation. He takes off after his grumpy student.

Naruto and Jiraiya are on the road again. At least they have a destination now. They were nearing Tanzaku-gai. Naruto gets a bad feeling as soon as they step into the town. "Orochimaru is here..." He warns Jiraiya. "Eh! Here!?" Jiraiya asks. "Did I stutter?" Naruto asks in return. His playful persona is gone. "Over there! With a chakra that feels earily familiar. And another huge Chakra source, with a smaller one next to it," Naruto says as he points towards an empty section of land. "Let's hurry!" Jiraiya says as he jumps ahead. "Yeah!" Naruto answers as he follows.

"Orochimaru just got away, I can't feel him anymore. The familiar chakra is also gone," Naruto reports after running for a few minutes. "Tch! Slippery bastard!" Jiraiya swears. "Tell me about it..." Naruto sighs. They speed ahead to at least see who that large centre of chakra is. Finally, they get to what looks like a battleground. A ruin in ruins, a wall crumbled, and the ground cracked around several places. "Yeah looks like a battleground Tsunade-hime and Orochimaru would leave behind," Jiraiya says as he whistles. "She must be strong..." Naruto comments. "Stronger than you are thinking," Jiraiya says.

"Let's hurry up and catch up with her," Jiraiya says after checking the battleground for a few minutes. They jump away into the village again. They look around for a few hours, then decide to eat dinner at an Izakaya. "Are you sure there is stuff I can eat?" Naruto asks. "I am sure! I am sure! Lets go!" Jiraiya leads him in. There, in a corner booth, sat a seemingly young lady. She had two long loose ponytails going down each shoulder. A grey kimono-like blouse covered her impressive figure, and she had almond coloured eyes.

All in all, she was probably the prettiest girl Naruto had ever seen. Something inside him did not agree with that statement, but he pressed on either way. "Tsunade!" Jiraiya screams out in shock. "Jiraiya!" She screams out just as shocked. EH! He just called his own aunt pretty! Also, there is no way she is as old as Ero-sennin! Naruto looks in between his teacher and aunt repeatedly. A shocked expression on his face. Jiraiya and Naruto move to sit down next to Tsunade and another girl with her. "This is Katoo Shizune. She is my apprentice. I'm sure you know her uncle, right Jiraiya?" Tsunade drunkenly slurs. "This is Naruto..." Jiraiya says uncomfortably. "No last name?" Tsunade slurs toward the younger man.

"Senju. Senju Naruto," Naruto confirms. Naruto sees the drunkenness leaving the woman's face. "Nice to meet you, oba-san," Naruto says as he gives her a short bow. Way too shallow for someone of Tsunade's stature in the village. Shizune gulps. Tsunade leans her head down; her hair is now covering her face. She reaches out her arm and grabs Naruto's collar. "Who do you think you are using that name!? Huh?!" She screams in his face. To an average person, this would have been terrifying. A legendary sannin, screaming in your face angrily. But Naruto played it cool. No visible reaction from his side. "I am the great-great-grandson of the Shodai Hokage on my mothers side," Naruto says seriously. Tsunade looks towards Jiraiya, who nods. Tsunade lets go of Naruto's collar, and he falls to the bench. "Tell me what you want so I can get this brat out off my face," Tsunade says.
