Bea wakes up and arcs her back, groans being let out as each section of her spine snaps back into place. Blinking away the blur, her eyes refocus on Marnie laying unconscious in the hospital bed. With each beep of the machines that keep her alive, a stabbing sensation overtakes the trainer. She hadn't been there when she was needed. Marnie might be fine still if she had been there. And Gloria...
Her entire mind shifts as the fighting-type trainer does a quick once-over of the room. First, she sees Allister slouched in a chair in the far corner of the room. Even weeks later, it still made her smile to see his face maskless. After she shifts to the other figure in the room, who much to her dismay, isn't Gloria.
"How could you possibly sleep so soundly while leaning forward like that," the other person in the room says, sliding a bag across the floor to Bea's feet before pushing their bangs to the side. "I have been waiting for some time to give this to you,"
"You could have just left it here for me," Bea responds, picking up the bag. "Didn't have to linger,"
The pink-covered boy stands up and rolls his eyes. "I was told to make sure you get it from the lady at the desk, and I do not half-ass things," he smirks and walks towards the door.
"Wait," she calls out while Bede is half out the door. "Do you know where Gloria is?"
He shakes his head. "Only her plan for the day based on the email that went out last night," Bede responds then walks out the door leaving Bea to scramble for her phone.
It is her top email The Battle is Still On, and she quickly opens it.
Due to unfortunate circumstances, the competitor Marnie is in need of medical care and is unable to participate in the final battle of this year's fall Star Tournament. So as not to disappoint the fans who were excited about the finals, the remaining competitors have agreed to participate in a 1 v 2 match pitting our current Champion against two previous ones. This match will be televised live on local channels but has been shifted to 18:24. Coverage will begin at the top of the hour. Watch live as The Flaming Shield of Galar takes on Master Mustard and Chairman Leon.
After the first read-through, she goes through it again and again. She becomes so absorbed in it, that she doesn't even notice Allister come around behind her to read over her shoulder.
"I can't believe she is actually gonna try and do it," he announces, eliciting an ear-piercing scream from his sister as she is pulled back to reality.
"Ghostie," she pants. "Don't scare me like that,"
"Not my fault you were zoned out," he huffs and finishes reading the message. "I can't believe she is going through with this,"
Bea sighs. "I can completely believe that she is going through with this. We need to go back to the hotel and see if she needs help with anything,"
"Are we going to not leave anyone here with Marnie?" Allister asks and they both look over at their comatose friend.
"Stay here, I'll call Gordie and see if he can come and take over,"
"You think he is going to want to miss the match any more than you do?" Allie chuckles, taking the backpack from in front of his sister and pulling out the fresh set of clothing.
"There are far more important things than the match," she hisses and takes the bag back once her brother is done with it. "I'll let you change, but when you come back, I'm heading out," she says.
Bea steps into the suite about an hour after first finding out about the match, and looks around. There is still a bit of a mess from the morning prior with Gloria's with a few folders still scattered across multiple tables and the floor. Sighing, she gathers up the scattered documents and tries to get them all together in one place. Not seeing Gloria around, she assumes that her lover must have passed out last in the bedroom.
