Several reporters talk amongst each other as they wait for the Champion to enter to room. Their conversations range over the variety of events that have transpired over the last twenty-four hours. Each conversation melds into the other as each theory is outdone by the next hypothesis. The room quiets down when Chairman Leon walks in and whispers to the official who will be calling out for the reporters to ask questions.
Official: We will be beginning shortly. So please take your seats
He gestures for everyone to sit down and they do so willingly, each of them equipping themsleves with their pens, notepads, or electronic devices that they will need for the upcoming interview. Chairman Leon posts himself by the door, and there is silence for a few moments before the former Champion nods.
Official: Everyone, the Flaming Shield of Galar, our Hero, Champion, and victor of this Star Tournament, Gloria!
There is a thunderous applause from just about every reporter as Gloria walks in with Bea close behind. They both take a seat behind the table, though Gloria is the only one behind a microphone. The fighting type gym leader looks nervous, while the Champion smiles and adjusts the height of the mic.
Gloria: So, first off just want to thank you for being here. Also, Bea is here as my companion but I will be the sole person taking questions.
She then looks at the officiator and nods
Official: Ok, we will begin taking questions.
Every reporter raises their hands and the he calls on one.
Reporter 1: Turffield Tribune. I'd first like to congratulate you for your victory, and ask if you were confidident from the start in your chances to win.
Gloria: I'd be lying if I said that was true, but one thing I am always certain of is the skills and abilities of my pokemon. I knew going in, that the only reason I would win was because of their will and abilities.
The reporters start jotting the answer down before it leaves their memories, before raising their hands in the hopes of being called on next. Eventually, one is.
Reporter 2: Hammerlocke Herald, congrats on the win. I was wondering if you wanted to shed some light as to what took place last night on the bridge in front of the stadium.
There is silence for a bit after the question is asked, and Gloria sighs running her hand through her hair to move it out from in front of her eye.
Gloria: I'm really not at liberty to say too much given the circumstances. What I can tell you is that Marnie and I while crossing the bridge encountered an unsavory individual. This person pulled a weapon on us, and discharged it at me. Then... there is a pause, Gloria lowers her head and Bea rubs her back slowly. When she looks back up, there are a few tears rolling down her cheeks and she clears her throat. She jumped him, in order to protect me and then...another pause...then she fell off the bridge with him. Sorry, she clears her throat again but um, she is currently in the hospital after Orion pulled her from the water. She is alive, but has not woken up as far as I know.
After this Gloria stops talking, and Bea hands her a piece of cloth to wipe her face with. With a smile, the Champion takes it and does her best to clear the tears that had fallen before motioning that she was ready for the next question.
Reporter 3: Yes, I am from the Galarian Enquirer and am wondering if you feel any remorse for exposing our children to the perverse display you put on after your victory today?
Gloria opens her mouth then gives her head a small shake as a look of confusion settles on her face
Gloria: I am not sure I understand what you mean
