Chapter 5: The Magic comes Back

(Noctis P.O.V)

I almost couldn't believe it, Cor also made it to this crazy world. I missed him dearly, even though he wasn't there often. Lightning and the others looked frightened and weirded out. Gladio was clapping, Ignis was nodding his head, and Prompto was yelling at the top of his lungs. "COR! WE'RE OVER HERE!" he yelled waving his arms wildly, Vanille started waving her arms too. We all were waving our arms to attract the ship, the ship slowly started to turn towards us and we heard a voice. "C'mon you warriors, but your back's into it" Cor was yelling at the warriors. "Yep, that's him alright" Gladio joked. When Cor and the ship got to the shore, he jumped off and hugged me tightly. "Noctis, so happy you're okay" he said. "Well it's not everyday that your dad's knight hugs you" I joked, "ME TOO, ME TOO" Prompto yelled nearly tackling Cor to the ground, Gladio pulled Prompto off of Cor. "Sorry dude, good to see you though" Gladio said and he patted Cor's shoulder, Ignis shook Cor by the hand as I introduced him to the rest of the group.

"Guys, this is Cor Leonis, he served Lucis under my dad, Cor this is everybody. There's Vanille over there" I said as Vanille waved. "That's Fang and Snow" they saluted, "That's Noel and Serah" Noel and Serah waved shyly, "That's Hope and Yeul over there" Hope saluted and Yeul bowed her head respectfully, "That's Sazh and his son Dajh over there, and Mog" Sazh and Dajh waved as Mog said his signature Kupo and waved his staff. "And this is Lightning" I said. Cor shook Lightning's hand, "Welcome to New Bodhum, can we help you?" Lightning asked, "Yes, I heard from the crystal that Ardyn was here, Luna was worried about you guys. She even saw what happened to you" he said looking directly at Snow. Snow instantly became weirded out, "Oh boy" he said as he walked up to Cor, "It's best that we talk in private" Cor said as he walked off with Snow following him, "He hasn't changed a bit" Prompto joked, "Wow, he kinda reminds me of a certain someone" Serah said looking directly at Lightning, "Haha, very funny" she said, but our funny banter was interrupted by yelling, "GUYS, GET OVER HERE!!" Hope yelled, "IT'S URGENT!!" Yeul added. We went running over to Hope's lab and saw something that nearly made us faint. 

The crystal was broken but out of it came 6 other crystals, there was a pink rose, an orange apple, a green star, a silver heart, a yellow wing, and a red crystal that looks like a foot. "Our eidoliths. How is this possible?" Lightning asked, the respective crystals went to their respective owners, the rose went to Lightning, the heart flew off to where Snow walked off, the wing went to Sazh, the star went to Hope, the apple went to Vanille, and the last crystal went to Fang. "Umm, what just happened?" Vanille asked, "I guess we have these back for a reason?" Sazh said in a puzzled way, Noel's eyes widened, "Caius" he said, "What?" Fang asked, "Caius must've given them to you" Noel said again, Serah looked at her friend "No way, the eidolons went to the other side with Caius and the Yeul's" Serah said, "Yeah but if Mog came back, they can come back too" Noel said. Suddenly two more crystals begun to form, one was black and looked like a lightning bolt, the other was teal and looked like a butterfly. "We'll hold onto these" Serah said as she took the crystals, she gave the black one to Noel. "Yeah, better safe than sorry" Noel added, I looked at Lightning, "What are these Eidolons?" I asked her, "They're challenges, beasts that a L'Cie must fight in a trial by combat, after the fight is finished, it joins you in a partnership, their should are held inside these crystals called Eidoliths, I don't know why Caius would give us these" she said. 

I looked at the crystal itself, "Wow, that thing must be important" I said, Lightning nodded as the crystal was embedded into her necklace, "It is, Odin was a cherished friend and warrior when I became the Warrior of Etro, but why these would leave the afterworld I have no idea" Lightning said, "I guess we'll get that answer from Caius" Hope said as his Eidolith was embedded in his watch. Soon we heard yelling, "YOU GUYS!!" I could tell it was Prompto. I ran outside as I saw Prompto running out of the forest, he was clearly disheveled, "We got a problem" he said catching his breath, Yell ran up to him, "Any wounds, are you okay?" she asked, "I'm fine, other than seeing Ardyn absorbing dark energy and make tracks for Altissa, I'm peachy" Prompto said as he nearly fainted, Vanilla caught him and took him to the infirmary.
