The doors opened and I found a line of 23 very nervous tributes. They were all decked out in various outfits to make them look...fancy. We will say fancy.
"Well don't you look like a doll."
I smiled knowing the voice. I quickly found Borris who was waiting off to the side of the elevators. He wore a simple maroon suit. Nothing exaggerate. It was plain and simple. I was happy to see that. He didn't need anything exaggerate.
"You clean up nice, Matthews."
He smiled and offered me an arm. I heard Celine happily sigh at the two of us as we walked to our designated spot behind Egger and Thia. They were both dressed in all white with silver lining the seems. Very simple. Very elegant.
"Well don't you two look smoky"
I smiled while Thia punched Egger in the shoulder.
"Well aren't you two sparkling."
Egger laughed and gave me a high five.
"So when does this thing start any ways?"
Thia turned and looked at the big clock at the top of the overhand. There was a door that must lead to where we would stand for when we are introduced.
"We still have 5 minutes."
I nodded and then frowned.
"Wait, that means I have to stand in these things for 5 minutes and 6 more minutes because you go first."
Borris started laughing which only made me glare at him. This only made him laugh harder.
"Oh you will survive princess."
I slowly turned my look back to Egger.
"Don't... Call... ME... princess!"
He held his hands up in surrender, looking a little scared for his life. Good, he should be. I looked at the clock and then the speakers came on
Ladies and gentleman, your host for the evening, Caesar Flickerman!
A man in a bold silver suit with black lining and purple hair walked out. He waved to the crowd flashing his overly white teeth at the crowd. The applause was deafening but he kept his calm.
"Thank you, and welcome to the show! I hope you've brought your appetite for fun, because tonight I going one-on-one with the Tributes for the 66th Hunger Games! And here they are!"
An Avox came over and offered and arm to Thia, he guided her to the doors connected to the overhang.
"Our first tribute is from district 1. She scored a 7 on her test, I introduce you the girl from the heavens, Thia Willows!"
Caesar gestured to the back of the stage and Thia gracefully glided across the stage. She immediately shook Caesar's hand with a charming smile on her face.
"Well Thia, don't you look beautiful this evening."
She blushed and brought her hand to her heart in absolute aww. What an act.
"Why thank you Caesar, you are too kind."
"Well aren't you the sweetest. Isn't she folks!?"
The crowed cheered to the question.
"Well Thia, how are you feeling about the games?"
"I am pretty confident Caesar, you know my score may not have came out very high but I am smart, I have a lot of things on my side."
