Chapter 9: Attack.
It was late at night as you were bored out of your mind. You guessed you missed your friends and watching anime. Maybe you missed your office that you sat and drew everything that came to mind.
You tugged the blanked close and the wisteria candle and pouch was close to you. You were alone for now, your fiancé was out of town for the last few days to investigate something in Tokyo.
You opened the door that lead to a small engawa that showed the beauty of the moon. Your long raven hair was loose over your shoulders letting air get them a bit. You placed the candle beside you letting the small flame lighten the engawa the most it could.
Even as the writer of a manga you had a stupid side.
Maybe demons were allergic to wisteria that didn’t mean they couldn’t get close. Well if they were strong they could, it made you feel stupid not changing that.
Suddenly a low rustle came from before you. A few feet away from the engawa there started a small forest and after that there would be a lot of wisteria trees.
The bush moved again making you stood up from your spot on the wooden flooring.
Suddenly a head popped out the bush and glared at you when you held back a laugh and squeal when you saw small Muzan!
Wait – wait. . . Muzan. . .

He looked like a toddler and his hair reached his shoulders. His eyes big and round – still red – you didn’t know what he wore since the bushes covered the part under his chin.
His brows were furrowed in a glare as his usual pale skin was pink as he puffed them trying to look scary.
You knew that if you ran away he would kill you, but you didn’t know what would happen if you stayed, well he’d try to get some weird answer over his ‘sick-looking’ appearance. That for a reason you made him look hot.
Your hands rubbed your eyes as he started to walk to you, his small legs moved each small steps making it look like it would take a few years before getting to you making you let a small ‘pfft’.
When he heard you he lifted his head, his brows tugged together with a heavy glare. He kept walking his hands up holding his balance. Wouldn’t he just turn into an adult and just get to you?
He got to you and you stood there, “are you lost kid?”
You acted as if you didn’t know who he was, and he thought you said the true and plopped down on the floor thinking that you were an idiot. Why was a woman - who was unarmed – sit on an engawa when the moon was fully on the skies?
“no,” his voice sent shivers down your spine from how deep it was even if he looked like a child.
His body grew in size same as the clothes. He looked like his adult self, his red eyes glowing in the night.
Even if he was close to you by three feet he didn’t dare get closer – the wisteria was there smelling stronger making his nose ache making him want to sneeze.
You didn’t show fear, “then why are you here?” you acted stupid even if he literally turned into an adult before you.
He bend his back forward, “you are a Kamado,” he pointed his sharp blue nail at your eye not close enough to get wisteria on him, after all the candle was close to your chest, “and you didn’t care for meaningless death of your Clan.”
Your face kept the smile but kept a blank facial expression not showing your fear to him, “and?” you till your head, “is it anything of your concern, sir?”
You knew it was all of his concern, he feared the Kamado, surely your brother Tanjuro and Tanjiro who had the family heirloom on them. While you, you were just an outcast that was practically ‘sold off’.
His scowl turned to a solemn expression.
(“Why didn’t she care of her clan?”)
“yes it is,” he tried to reason, “why don’t you become a demon?”
He offered you, his offer as usually would be tempting due to how charming he sounded and acted when he brought the topic, if you were someone else or had other goals before you, you could’ve considered.
But you just got up making him take a step back, his red eyes happy, “no, sir, if I could in my next life I would, but . . . I have to save someone.” Like that you walked inside the scent of wisteria following you like the wind.
(“Save someone?” what does she mean?)

The next morning you were immediately taken to another house a bit far from the Flame Estate you prepare, after all, it was seen to activate bad luck when the groom sees the bride before the ceremony. Not like you believed that, but you obeyed not caring much.
The maids did your hair and makeup before giving you the wedding kimono and haori. Your sandals were tall and heavy.
But the training helped that you walked easily in place of face planting. You let the maid place the last of the hairpins in your hair before being escorted to the wedding ceremony at that day. Normally wedding would be at night back in the Heian Era but due to Demons things changed.
There wasn’t more than fifty people at the wedding that most were Hashiras or Demon Slayers, your brother and Kie were there too.
Kie wasn’t married to Tanjuro yet, he hadn’t ask her yet, they just had met and dated for a bit. But you knew they would get married in a few years. Maybe two or three years.
Kie was from the Kamado Clan but was mixed with another family, due to her having purple eyes she couldn’t fully use Sun breathing – if she could.
Tanjiro had eyes mixed with red and purple making his eyes look a wine colour. Same with the other children.
Like the ceremony started without you getting a change to confess.
