Chapter 26: Problems

Your hand clasped your lips as the news entered your ears, “what?”

She did not survive even if the crow was sent, when he arrived Douma already struck killing Kanae and Shinoubu was there after she followed the older.

Your eyes looked down in shame after trying to save the fate you decided for them, why did you decide that and now change it, who knew, you got to change the future of Ruka that you have placed on her and now you tried to change from others that you knew you would not be able of change.

Muichiro hugged your waist his long hair held up into a ponytail matching from his twin who just frowned at your petty state.

You did get to save the twins that their name was changed to Rengoku rather than Tokito. The two learned Mist breathing, well Muichiro mastered Mist the best but Yuichiro made Rain breathing.

“Kocho Kanae passed away,” Iguro repeated with a calm expression as he pet the crow lightly that laid on his wrist and the snack glared at the bird.

Funny enough after a week you found out you were pregnant once more, this time you did not know if it was a boy due to the changes of the manga, but Senjuro and Kyojuro were both very enthusiastic to know.

Iguro was just announced as Pillar a few days before and his uniform was changed after all.

You and Shinjuro were suddenly called and everyone from the manor aside from Senjuro and Yuichiro were called over to the Master of the Estate. You were nervous since now it was year 1912 right after the yearly Hashira meeting.

So you knew what was gonna go down that time. You sweated nervously and walked inside the yard, this was not what you wrote down in your story, this was not what happened in the manga you made!

You held your husband’s hand as Muichiro held your other hand trying to comfort you, his normal happy and innocent face dropped into an indifferent one when you entered the meeting area and then headed to his spot and you walked farther away.

Iguro and Mitsuri went to talk to the other Pillars. Kyojuro was there after he came back from a mission of the night before and chatted with Uzui Tengen who you wrote as a fan service art.

Everyone saw you but did not say anything as they continued to talk.

Until a Kakuchi brought a pretty wounded and knocked out Tanjiro whose arms were held together by a new and thick rope.

Shinjuro’s eyes widen and leaned to your ear, “That’s Tanjuro’s son?” you simply nodded your eyes strained to the Kakuchi that started to shake him awake.

Your eyes moved to Muichiro that looked away with a blank expression like he did not care. The trauma drifted him and his brother sometimes to illusion or paranoia. It made you sometimes wonder if you could change the death of their parents.

But everything was your own design and decisions.

Like that they all discussed between themselves over the case of Kamado Tanjiro, Shinjuro wanted to speak up and ask what was fully going on due to the boy being the nephew of his wife.

“Some idiot would travel with a demon.” One spoke up that I realized it was Uzui who crossed his arms over his chest.

Shinjuro’s eyes widen more than they already were before he grabbed your hand, “do you know about this?”

Yes “no,” you dryly said, but you did not realize that your scent grabbed the attention of the rooky Demon Slayer that was still held down by the Kakuchi.

“Oi, oi,” your eyes snapped up to see the male I first officially met two years before that now moved the box around like a rag doll with a crazy look in his eyes, more scars were on his body than before. “so you are the idiot that travels with a demon.”

(Her sent matches the one of dad. Was what the boy thought his whine coloured eyes were connected to her face even if her gaze was somewhere else.)

“Shinazugawa-Sama!” a female Kakuchi ran over her gasp heard from all the way you were, your eyes narrowed hoping nothing would change because you were there. “Please place it down!”

The habit of scratching your cheek started to come back after Kanae’s death surely after your child’s birth, you sighed and brought your hand up to your check your nails digging into your skin as you started to scratch from stress.

A hand grabbed your wrist as a loud slam was heard bringing you back from your swirl of thought and stress. Muichiro grabbed your wrist before Shinjuro could and his face showed concern.

“Mother,” he spoke as he tried to not start brawling from sadness since he still was emotionally sensitive, “don’t do that, it makes us worry.”

You nodded slowly as he walked to everyone that was bowing, Shinjuro also did as you also did one swift bow to your student.

“do a proper bow!” you narrowed my eyes at the one that snapped at you that was Sanemi.

But then someone intervened, “Good evening my cute swords man, and guest, I hope the sun is blue this fine day.”

Then Sanemi chirped in his had bowed, “I pray for your health master.” You were still amused of his reverence for Kagaya it made your heart swell even if he was being an ungrateful bitch before Kagaya came.

“I am happy we have no change of staff,” he spoke with a light tone, “before we start the trail, Ruka-Sama,”

My head tilled up with amuse, he normally called me Ruka, or mother, but he lifted my honorific like this? “yes?”

His eyes narrowed with his kind smile making me smile with him as he said, “come here, I wish for your presence beside me to help me in this odd and very unique situation.”

Like that I walked from beside my husband after giving him a questionable glance and he just nodded. I walked up the engawa and stood beside him. Every Pillar – aside from Kyojuro – looked very surprised not knowing who I was (or what I did) that I stood there.
